Riding with the Hornets

Welcome to the Hornet Team

Hope u will have many enjoyable & safe rides with Us.

Guide for the Team

1. Be Courteous

Bike should be in Good Condition

(If u service your bike... do it a week before the ride.

Any problem surfacing... bike would be in Spore)

Get to know the rest of the team.

Smile & say Hi!

2. Be On time

Won't be nice to let your team wait too long for u.

(Msg me if u gonna be late the time u be reaching or unable to come)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/2100spectrum/Staggered01M_resize.jpg

3. Staggered Formation

Staggered Formation on One Lane & Singe File on Small roads

Staggered Formation will give us space for emer manoeuver.

And space on the side if bike has a problem.

Speed: Will ride at a speed that will overtake most of the traffic at a slow rate.

As such, we would be on the overtaking lane along the highway a fair bit.

Signal and Move Left if a Faster vehicle is coming from the behind

Flash the one infront to do likewise.

2nd Link: 110kmh

4. Over Take on the Right

There will be rare times when traffic is slow and we overtake on the left.

Or when vehicle road hog (We are not gonna follow him all the way to KL)

Overtake slowly...

May use breakdown lane... in a crawling jam... look out for debris.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/2100spectrum/Overtaking02M_resize.jpg

5. When Overtaking

Do So when it is safe.

Do not be pressured to overtake.

We will wait for u.

On the other hand... overtake quickly when the opportunity arise.

Until u do... the rest behind can't.

Pass and and move forward.

Make sure there's enough room for others to fall behind u.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/2100spectrum/BikesonTour3.jpg

6. Know the Ride Plan

Know the route, km to run & rest point.

Will help to find the team if separated.

It will also be more interesting for u.

7. Hand Signals

Point to the tank if u need fuel.

To your head if u need rest...

Wave to the last bike to continue if u just

wanna stop for Some non-emer stuff eg wearing sunglasses...

Quickly catch up after that.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/2100spectrum/BikesonTour5.jpg

8. Markers

If there are no markers on a junction... GO STRAIGHT!

Anyone riding behind the leader automatically becomes a marker

When Pointed to a location to mark...

Park a safe spot.

Signal lite on the direction of turn.

Watch out for stones that usually gather around junctions.

Wait for the last bike to pass...

Then move back to the front.

9. Last Bike

He will be last to make sure no one is left behind.

It is important not to hold the team by riding too slowly.

If u see the gap for the bike in front is getting bigger...

U are too slow! catch up.

The Formation should be tight enough to be safe

And not let any other vehicle get in between.

They are a source of danger when the infiltrate our formation.

That includes bikes not from our team.

10. Lost

If u are lost... Msg/call me. Don't Worry.

Will give u direction to return to the team.

May not get me immediately as I be riding.

But will return your call at regroup pt.

(please Pm me your Hp & a Next of Kin if u have not done it)

11. Choose a Buddy

Buddy someone...

It is the quickest way to know if u are missing or need help.

It is important for each to be responsible in his style of riding.

Safe rides is a culture with this team and

We look after each other at all levels.

Biking has it's risk... we keep it at a Min

12. Bike Type

For day trip: Phantom 150, SP... or likes

For longer trip: Hornet 250, S4... or likes

It will be too stressful for smaller bikes.

Both the rider & team. Thks.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/2100spectrum/ResizeofDaineseM.jpg

13. Wear Protection

Riding Jacket, jeans/touring pants & Shoes (boots will be gd)

Gloves.

Last line of defence to injury if we do fall.

Full face will help protect your chin/face.

I Know it is a little hot... but once on the move.

It is comfortable.

Always have your rain suit with u.

14. One Lane Please

Stay within one lane As Decided by the Leader.

Be it Center, Over taking or left Lane.

This will help our Marshalls get back to the front quickly.

It is also being courteous to other road user.

Do not overtake the Leader unless there prior arangement to do so.

15. See Children... Wave

We are guest of their country. We must always remember that.

Be Respectful to properties & people we come in contact with.

Somehow with our riding gears... we do look intimidating.

But a wave to the kids always brings a smile.

Riding thru towns: reduce your speed

The Team will do it's best to keep everyone safe.

That means you too will have an important part to play.

For yourself & your team mates.

So let take good care of one another!

There is no Glory if u Crash

The Ride will be delay & plans may have to change.

Injury to your body & damage to your beautiful bike.

Enjoy Your Ride but come home Safe

Important!

As riding has it's risk.

Joining our rides will mean you accept responsible for your own safety.

Very informative. Back to some basic and observe safety rules. Ride safely. The road is always there for us.

  World Peace

By the way, the bike wash at GP closes around 5 - 6pm. For so many bikes going for the bike wash, probably we have to target reaching there around 4pm. Cos need to cool down bike --> de-grease --> shampoo --> rinse --> wipe dry --> lastly, layer of oil / wax spray on plastic / rubber / black portions. Multiple that with the number of bikes. It's going to be a long process. If it's too rush, probably enjoy the trip and wash bike some other time.

Oh yes,  World Peace

Oh yeah, you guys have not met the real durian siow people.

I know a bunch of people (executives by day) who pick their own durians thru Singapore's jungle. They know which tree has the best durians and they know roughly when the durians of that tree will drop and at what time of the night.

Really extreme.

Guess you are one of these "executives", ain't it right?

Spectrum...is there anyone time that we can ride faster than the speed u indicated and wait at the next rest point?

example N-S highway exit at pagoh..

Ride hard & safe...

Posted

Yes,

The provision for a faster gp (sport bikes, etc... )

But...

2nd link we ride togather @ 110kmh.

- don't want any of our team to be booked

- And normal licence plate please... the heat is on illegal plates.

1st section: From End of 2nd Link - Ayer Hitam

The Fast Gp will move ahead after 2nd link.

Exit at Ayer Hitam & Regroup after the Toll.

Any bike wanting to pull ahead while in the main convoy can do so...

Just make your way slowly to the front... Well clear of the convoy...

"Wave & point fwd" when u reach the Leader

he would know u want to ride ahead.

If u can... I'll prefer most to stay with the main body.

2nd section: Ayer Hitam - Pagoh

3rd section: Yong Peng - Beginning of 2nd Link

2007 Honda CB600F Hornet

Honda will update many models for the 2007 season where the emphasis will be on bringing the whole model range up to Euro 3 standards. With increasing competition in the naked middleweight segment from the likes of Suzuki GSR 600 and BMW F800S Honda will update their 600 Hornet model next year. It is also expected that both Yamaha and Kawasaki will update their FZ6 and Z750. Honda will most likely use a newer version of the CBR600RR engine and a chunky swing arm GSR (or in Hondas case CBR style) style. Honda already has a sensible middleweight in the CBF600 with budget components. CB600F will continue to be more sports orientated with ace handling, new top spec radial mounted brake callipers and more power than today. CG by Robert O’Brien

2007 Honda CB1000F Hornet and even more KTM 690 spy shots!

Along with a revamped CB600F Hornet, Honda is expected to dump the old CBR engine in the CB900F and bring out a heftier version of the CBF1000 engine for a brand new CB1000F Hornet. Styling will be more adventurous than the CBF hopefully. A CBF1000 engine means the latest generation Fireblade genes, but with much more than 100bhp this time. To bring it up to the level of the competition from Yamaha FZ1 and Kawasaki Z1000 it needs more than 130bhp. Our best guesses is a max power output of around the 140bhp mark. We also believe that the bike will get a very similar chassis to the CBR1000RR to really make an impact on the big nakeds market. Honda has got the CBF1000 for the sensible types so no problem to make the big Hornet both powerful and sporty. TS/CG
