dun think i'll be gettin a shorty. a long one would be more practical. but then again, does a 3mm one provide enuf thermal protection if im not divin in tropical waters? say aussie or sth?

well... if diving in oz means you are diving in the gbr, 3mm is good enough. i dive in a 3mm shorty in oz without much difficulty. most dive sites, i.e. coral reefs, are in the tropical belt. unless you are preparing for a lot of deep dives and long dive duration, 3mm is fine.

5mm is really very thick (not to mention very heavy), and actually will serve you less well (and less often) than a 3mm. if ever you need the extra thickness, go get get an addition 1mm skin suit.

wat's the diff between a split fin and a normal one? the split fin doesnt generate as much power izzit? seems kindda flimsy though.

split fins offer lesser effort in fining and more maneuverability. but normal ones can offer just as much.

it all boils down to your fining technique, and preferences, so if possible borrow a fin or 2 frm your frds jus to see which one fits you best. if not jus spend money n learn dat lesson lor..

personally, i won't recommend such an option. my reason is as follow:

advance water are basically more dives with the cert throw in at the end of the day. however, those "extra dives" usually include some of the following: deep diving, night diving, wreck diving and underwater topo. for a beginner (aka just pass open water), how well can you react to situations underwater? how comfortable are you underwater? how well can you control your bouyancy? these are questions i can't answer, but you will need to find out. no point signing up for such a course only to realise after open water, you are not comfortable and won't be able to enjoy yourself. no harm getting a few extra leisure dives under your belt before you sign up for advance.

there are no super deals for dive courses (usually that is).

this is a TRADE exhibition, deals can be had for equipment and stuff most of the time.

as for entry fee... you can always register online as a trade visitor.

any more pics to show? how's the marine life there? i heard there is a small wreck found inside the lagoon. is it true?

The dives were fantastic! :thumb:

It's not a commercialised island so the dive spots are really unspoilt. The corals were fully intact and to me that was the beauty of it.

Ehhh.. can someone teach me how to post the pics so ppl dun need to DL or not har? Anyway, here's more.

We didn't see the small wreck, but we went to the 5 sisters. The vis was bad so when we came upon the wreck, it felt like the Titanic movie like that
