Actually I find all the motorcycle FF helmets above look more or less the same. Other than different colours, the shape more or less stays close to the conventional shape.

Someone should come out with a breakthrough in the shape...

Made of CF?

The shell is constructed from HJC's own 'Premium Integrated Matrix' (PIM), a sandwich of prepreg glass fibre, organic fibres, Aramid twill (!) and polyethelene.

http://www.superbike.co.uk/news/HJC_RPHA_10_motorcycle_crash_helmet_news_297637.html

it's lighter than CF and much tougher and stronger...

I checked again. Also known as th HJC RPS-10 in the US....

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/hjc/rps-10/index.htm

It still weighs in at 1525gms compared to the standard XR1R's 1382gm, and the XR1R Carbon's 1219gm.

1.2 is freaking light!

Looks like HJC RPHA-10 and Shoei Qwest aren't that light after all.

One is size L, the other is size M. 300g difference possible?

speaking from a person who wears the R-PHA 10 ben spies race replica, i can assure everyone that this helmet is damn light, lightest ever helmet ever held by me. i feel no strain and no weight on neck and shoulders while riding long distance...

by just carrying the helmet, you sure will say, "whoa damn light sia" just head down to motoworld to judge for yourselves.

Hmm... Dunno. Never owned the helmet. Mebbe I'll pop by Motoworld to have a look.

But according to the reviewer, and not as specified on HJC website, the weight is here:

http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmet-weights.htm

No 1. is the NEXX carbon. The HJC is at No. 25.

Granted it's a large/medium size diff... I wonder how their weigh-in differs from yours by 300 grams.

Anyway, the Nexx is at 1219, all in. Visors, breath guard, everything.

Even this site says it weighs "less than 1500gms" ... which usually means not very far under 1500gm.

http://www.ultimatemotorcycling.com/hjc-rps-10-motorcycle-helmet-development

This site puts it at 1540 for Medium.

http://www.amazon.com/HJC-RPS-10-Helmet-Mugello-Medium/dp/B0046DCGW2

U very sure yours weigh in at 1200? Put it on a scale yet?

yes, im doubly sure mine weighs 1200gms +- 10gms... it also has a sticker stucked behind the helmet tat indicate the size and weight of the helmet. (L/1200grams).

it is really damn light, lighter than x-11 and x-12. holding is believing.
