this is what the editor of webbikeworld replied...

Hi :

Thanks for the information. I believe the helmets are identical other than the name.

Note that many of the manufacturers put a label on the helmet with a weight, and this weight is usually the smallest size helmet, like an XS, but for some reason they put the label on all the helmets.

We weigh our helmets on a very accurate laboratory scale, so you can be assured the weights are correct. 1200 grams would be light even for a size XS helmet and even some of the lightest carbon fiber helmets aren't that light. Have you weighed your helmet on a certified scale? It would be interesting to see what it really does weigh.

Best regards,

Rick.

cool. he bothered to reply. but i believe the rpha 10 is a pretty nice helmet, light, safe, endorsed by motogp. at a lower cost than arai or shoei.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

Yeah. I'll be interested to know too.

They used to say that Arai helmets are light and all, but it doesn't seem so now after you get the weight readings.

The Corsair V... or RX7-RR5 over here... has been checked off my to-get list 'cos basically Arai just releases MOTS, bar new race graphics. :p I had a Rapide, through the various versions, OR, M, S, etc etc... I couldn't tell the diff one from the other.

I've also had 2 Shoeis. So mebbe it's time to give other brands like Nexx and Suomy a chance. :D

I dunno about HJC or KBC. Gotta go try them on perhaps.
