a new rectifier + batt would probably be less than 300......a generator rotor???o_O

a generator is some kind of magnetic thing .... mine was damaged, in pieces. the engine light in your rpm will light up. bike wont start and even when u push start, it will stall again and again. advise - frequent burnout and pop wheelies could cause this damage

Nope ... magnetic coil is different. I asked the mech weather it was the magnetic coil. He said my coil was fine. Ive searched the NET for the item. Its called a Generator Rotor. Its a very rare case for me as I had to wait 2 weeks to get them.

Ride my bike today. Temp hit to 130 Deg ... radiator confirm leak and i suspect the water pump is not working either. And bike is till not sent to the workshop yet. Feel like smacking the bike. Know any shop that can do repairs and py in installments ? Im broke just repairing this beast.

pentagonx: If your bike when heated up makes a mechanical whistling sound, means that your water pump is rusty and needs to be replaced.

Slowly isolate the heat problem. If it means spending $$ on a new radiator, so be it, suk it up and walk off knowing that at least your bike is repaired.

There's no whistling sound.. so i presume water pump's fine, finger X. Currently i'm broke, literally. Had so much to pay other then repairing the bike. List you out what I've changed/repaired on my bike:-

1. First repair Jun 07 - Rectifier, battery, a set of Michellin pilots: $600+

2. First ever accident - Damage cowlings, headlights, mirrors: Covered

3. Second repair Feb 08 - Recitifier, battery and generator motor: $900+

4. Mar 08 Mod exhaust - A&R Racing baffles: $120

5. June 08 - New set of Bridgestones and chain/sprocket : $500+

6. Today - Radiator leak (confirmed) and more i think: $$$$?

Suck it off and walk off alot of times dont you think? Hehehe ..

Must be one of those shops again. The ones without lighting.

If he buys into this "generator motor/rotor" thing, the next time his bike has problem, it will probably need a replacement of the flux capacitor....

Incidentally, I think I've seen that shop before. This guy is the chief mechanic.

The generator ROTOR is part of your bike's engine. You can check it under Yamaha R1 service manual. That piece was destroyed ( he opened it in front of me ). The reason why I didnt go to other shops because that part has to be ordered, no matter which shop I went. So might as well repair it there.

About the rectifier, the first change was done because i left my bike on PARKING the whole day while I enjoy swimming at the beach.

The second one was caused by the ROTOR. So .. rectifier doesnt easily get spoilt ... it was part of my mistake and part engine problem.

Generator ROTOR wouldn't easily spolit unless your previous owner always rides in high revs.o_O
