Cagiva has now announced that the 2 stroke Mito will be gone in 2012 and replaced with a 4 stroke one. The end of the 2 stroke world as we know it is nearly here.

its sooner or later.. well it will take many years for those on the road to die out. there are still plenty of krr and sp on the road. i think rxz still in production? hehe.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

with coe prices.. many two strokers are going to the scrapyards soon..

lets pray that they can develop the 4stroke technology to give out at least 2 stroke performance.

and pray that they develop the direct injection 2strokes technology that is more fuel efficient yet more powerful and make it mainstream again.

It's using the derbi engine. Aprilia just ditched their goodies like the radial mounted calipers

i think aprillia's calipers are actually made by Grimeca.. only put aprilia logo

Then they'll have to get the piston to have a power stroke twice as quick as they do now. For example the R1's engine produces somewhere around 160 horsepower per litre. The RS125's Rotax 122 pulls out about 250 horsepower per litre. A difference of almost 100 horsepower per litre. That is quite a lot of difference. The 4 stroke engines will have to rev really high to produce that much more power.

Hi all.

This might be a stupid question. But will the RS4 125 as a 4 stroke be cheaper than its older 2 stroke counterpart?

When will the shops here bring in the rs4 125 and does anyone have the latest update on its price?

Base on performance the 4 strokes will always smell the 2 strokes's smoke, thats how its gonna be and will always be.
