My opinion:

HD riders should'nt wear raincoats. It doesn't match the image.

Yes I totally agree with u guys and would not prefer to wear one. But I was caught in a situation recently where I need to attend an important function. Didn't expect the rain, rode halfway & was all wet. Drenched & looked so down! So was thinking of getting one just meant only for 'emergency' use..

bro,, very simple...keep this is mind...when it about to rain park the bike take a cab. if your ride is not the bling bling type. Where a leather jack....a leather chap....then push the rain...but hot like ****...

if you need to protect yourself from the rain, just wear the humble raincoat. unless you dont mind arriving at your destination looking like you have fallen into the river. nothing wrong or weird for HD riders to put on the 'unstylish' raincoat. who gives a f**k. it's raining. you need to be dry.

or you could go for leather gear. but in heavy rain, the leather jacket wont keep you totally dry from experience.

just my 3 cents worth ;)

I always check the weather forecast before i take my Harley out... especially if i need to attend an important function, it's more important that I reach there dry and not in style... and so I ride my Spark which has a raincoat in the box.

If I'm not attending an important function and I intend on riding the Harley, I just make sure I have ziplock bags for my wallet and phone. Not really worried about getting soaked or my Harley being caught in the rain. Worst case scenario, just wash and polish as necessary. :)

If it has t!ts or a kickstand, I can ride it.

Bro, fully agreed with you! Why worried about the look of wearing a rain coat on a harley? I will wear it if need to! That's all!

i'm riding a roadking, using "bell" raincoat. bought 1 size bigger so the pants dont tear so fast. so far so good!!! better to get to your destination dry then wet!!!

NEVER ride faster than your guardian angel can FLY!!!

I have the harley armor jacket which is pretty good for rain, and a good pair of rain pants from LAB.

Harley or not, if you insist on riding the HD in the rain, just wear a raincoat, period. HD riders who wear LAB raincoats and remain dry are less of a poser than those who choose to 'stick with the image' bullsh!t.

I have the best signature.

I think the question here is not whether or not to wear rain gear on a HD but what kind of rain gear to avoid being burnt by the hot pipes. I personally have burnt a couple of pants made of synthetic material. One of which is a riding pants. Now I just try to be carefully to keep when I ride with them. If anyone has a better solution, I'm keen to find out.

Just wear the regular Aeroblade series raincoats from LAB.. mine has been keeping me dry for about 5 years already.

One idea is to switch to forward foot controls if you're worried about your raincoat-pants getting burnt. Or perhaps folding up the bottom of the pants a few times?

If it has t!ts or a kickstand, I can ride it.

I dont know of any rain gear that wont melt on the pipes, especially if the gear is baggy. I carry some velcro wraps and make sure the pants are tight around where it might touch the pipes.

Its better to keep dry than to look coole in a t shirt in a downpour. For all those who say park your bike in case it rains, guess you never ride your bike in the afternoon then. Just deal with it, the bike is meant to be ridden, not parked.
