Normally I will use soap water or WD40 to clean the rim. Sometime liquid wax. If you clean your rim often to NOT let the dirt built up, it is quite easy to clean it off and that is w/o sweat also.

Of course if your bike doesn't comes with a main stand, you can invest in a portable jack which someone is doing MO for it. With the jack, it will make your life easier.

last time i use WD40 but after tat the surface like oily n sticky, so more dirt stick onto the rim,now i use degreaser,it look like tap water but very strong n leave the surface smooth not oily..effort-less and cheaper den wd40

I suspose you use cloth to wipe off the WD40 after spraying? No issue for me. Another brand I use is Waxco silicon spray. Like WD40 kind of spray. Don't know whether it really got silicon inside. I only know it is more value for money than WD40. It works great also.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

GT85.

1st use a dry cloth to remove all brake dust.

2nd after cleaning off all the brake dust use GT85 and ANOTHER cloth wipe the rim.

Purpose is to let the rim shine and also that the new brake dust easier to remove as the GT85 leave a layer of Teflon. Thats how i clean my rim. WD40 sticky residue and may leave marks. But thats only personal opinion.

gt85.. i agree wif kinwei on using the jack.. makes life alot easier. my method is similar to bernardk.. 1st i spray the gt85 on the cloth then i wipe the rim.. very easy then it leaves a glossy look to my black rims.. LOVE IT ! kinda like lookin at my own reflection on a highly polished kiwi-ed boots :D

Recently, I chanced across a rims cleaner spray at one shop in tampines which costs $2.90 only..... it is called "Car Care Magic: Wheels Cleaner" It really works like magic..... just spray it on your rims / dirty or greasy area, wait for about 5 mins (u will see all the dirt and brake dust dissolving / reacting with the liquid) and rinse it off with water....viola. No wiping, no scrubbing. Those who want to buy, it is a hardware, multi-purpose shop located at blk 827 tampines st 81, beside PosBank Tampines West branch (sorry I dont have the shops contact details)....Cheers;))

whoa .. $2.90 per can for car care magic: wheels cleaner is worth a try .. thanks for sharing

a cheaper way is to use laundry detergent mix with water and spray on rim

the concentrated kind will cut thru grease easily, else a bit of scrubbing if very tough dirt ..

engine degreaser is also a good way, can get from any auto section in large super mart

S100 products sold at Biketech are what i used to clean my rims and clean/lube my chain..

they will advice you to mix half of S100 degreaser with water as the original concentration is strong..

with it i clean rims and chain with no sweat, minimal scrubbing..

the degreaser will not eat paint, good for engine cleaning too..

else Muc off is also very good.. but the price is more ex..
