From what i know suzuki still makes new DRZ but it is the exactly the same bike since 2005 just different colour every year but no longer allow on SG road due to emission standard. Correct me if im wrong but that is why those JS chassis cant change to after market exhaust. but then again no idea why those SK chassis can still put yoshimura. 🙄

wow, super detailed and comprehensive.. thnx bro @biting_point. do u still have your drz? still one of the best scramblers around.. wonder why suzuki dont make a new one

I've already sold it many years ago.. it's because of newer emission laws that's why no newer DRZs are produced.

Yes apparently so from what I gather from the previous posts (finally caught up reading page 1 to now). Luckily for me, mine is K8 model but to spend on a yoshi full system now.... 🤑🥵

Suzuki relaunched the Hayabusa for 2021, hopefully they will relaunch the DRZ for 2022?

hahah i did read it from page 1 when i first got my DRZ. Back then regretted not doing enough research to get a SK chassis so i can put yoshimura 😔.

Your exhaust is current stock?

Mine comes with a Remus endcan. I grew to like it more each day cos it’s not common (If I’m not wrong, no Remus was mentioned since page 1 hah) and it will make a similar sound to a house lizard whenever the air propulsion is irregular haha

remus is indeed rare as i only seen it a few times. Yoshi is now very common on the road and also when u see used drz on carousell all comes with yoshi 😅.

Right now im contemplating to do top overhaul or not 💸 but i have this mindset if it aint broke dont fix it hahah. Rode slightly more than 10,000km since i bought it.

Yes so gonna keep telling myself that yoshi is too common for my own liking so I will lose interest to buy it hahaha

Where did you service your bikes? Perhaps you could ask Raptor for advice/service if you have not? I also wanted to do a top overhaul on mine initially since I had no records of the bike previous servicing or whatsoever and the bike is more than 10 years already. Upon checking with Angelo, it seems that the previous owner(s) also did not service at Raptor. Angelo helped to check the compression, my bike’s PSI was surprisingly the same as a top overhauled one (disclaimer: he did mentioned since it was not opened up, he don’t know for sure the condition but I’ll take it). Instead, did normal servicing together with valve clearance and coolant flush together with some essential acce$$orie$ hahaha

Gonna head there again soon to install lowering links and some accessories. Splurging is inevitable hahah

haha how tall are you? I bought lowering links from raptor when i first got the bike because it was too tall and im not used to the seat height. The accessory list is never ending man lol 🤑

169cm. My seat was modified to be thicker/higher so currently I’m tiptoeing. My guess is that if I were to use the original seat, my ball of my feet should touch the ground at least? Might be getting another seat since hands still itchy hahaha

After you installed the lowering links, how is it for you? Did you install just the lowering links or the adjustable one? I bought my lowering links online. Don’t feel like getting the adjustable one since I want it to be lowered.

Did you change any of the brake rotor? I came across Arashi. Cheaper alternative braking disc. Heard some good reviews on thumpertalk surprisingly.

Im also 169cm!. After lower i got more confident with the bike when i stop at traffic light. If i wear boots i can flat foot 1 side if i lean to the side. Im using kouba link that lower by 1.75". Raptor is selling the seatconcept seat but i just cant justify the amount for a seat lol.

Im using 320mm NG disc. It comes as a set when i upgraded to brembo caliper. Not a fan of the wave design 😅

Yeah saw his seat concept seat posts on FB. Not for me either but to each individual.

Damn you got the brembo caliper upgrades. How much does that cost you? So I believe you also have done the Hot Cams upgrade right? Hahaha

Hi guys, first time owner DRZ 400 here. My upper fork is oxidized, I am thinking about coating it. Usually how many days the workshop can coat it and the price range? And can i retain the original gold color when coating it. One of the workshop quoted me at least 1 week due it need 5 days of air curing and price is up to $180 for both sides. And retain original gold shine color is not possible as cerakote color is matte. And he didnt recommend wrapping  because it will make oxidized worsen if the wrap is peeled off. If you have any advise and recommended workshop please let me know too, thanks.

Sorry no idea. I did however just did a rough search on thumpertalk and here’s what I found. I guess it shouldn’t be too worrying? Maybe keep light coating it with fork oil/wd40 after every wash?

holy crap how did your forks become like that?

sorry i would not know how to fix it, but a simple and quick fix could be going to a wrap shop to wrap the forks, they might have the anodized gold colour so the forks will look same. gl!

I just got the bike a few months ago when the forks were already in that condition. Thanks for the tips guy. I guess the previous owner left the motorcycle exposed without bike canvas under the sun and rain at the open space carpark for many years. Now after researching I am consider to either cover it with vinyl wrap (cheapest) or plastidips (pricey).

I still remember the scrambler/DRZ hype and crazed back in 2012 with many fb photos and video post from the riders. I was still riding underbone cub bike back then.  Those riders have longed sold their DRZ since, I guess I missed the DRZ party haha. But I am very much enjoy riding it at the moment :)

How much does vinyl wrapping cost for forks? Is it 100ish? Saw this on Ali

You might be interested. I believe aesthetics wise can get items from here/taobao etc if cheap. Strictly just aesthetics though unless there are people have vouch for their performance related items like sprocket and stuffs like arashi brake discs. Else it will cause more problems just like the one Raptor shared on his FB. Read one of the comments:
