Wat saf helmet?? Recce troops have their own helmet like normal bike helmets.. The rltraditional infanyry helmet is not allowed unless u tink u will be struck by artillery while riding

Anyway, Law has decreed that all non-PSB approved helmets are not to be allowed on the road. This also applies to our not so-protective SAF issued helmet.

I think SAF helmets should be approved by PSB. Why make our soldier boys wear unapproved helmets? If our motorcyclists cannot wear non-PSB approved helmets, our soldiers shouldn't have to either! Won't somebody think of the children!!?!

Hmmmm.... ..... Our soldiers do not wear the SAF helmet when they are on the road. If you look carefully next time a convoy of SAF bikes go pass you, you will see that they actually strap or tie their SAF helmet which has the camo net on the left side.

On the field, that's occupational hazard, being shot by bullets is more likely than falling on your head. Besides, motorcycle helmet is much too hot when we are not moving, more heat stroke case if we wear full face and chiong suaw, enemy havent cum, we si liao.

SAF helmet no cushioning leh, kena accident then head down first = our head crack liao. Furthermore the purpose is to tahan a bullet, not a fall. Maybe you go try put some additional cushioning to it then try go approve it

Crash helmet is for motorcycling impact.

SAF helmet is for mortar fragments or bullets hitting it an angle.

All SAF helmets are approve, dont you know SIngapore working safety regulation is very strict? so they themself govt sector need to set a good example. And if you got chance to go in PSB to see how they test helmets, SAF helmets is one of them.

Haha, regardless, it does not comes with a PSB sticker, does it?

 

I admit that these helmets are tested and approved based on international standards but it has been proven that these helmets cannot even stop a 5.56mm bullet from killing the wearer, provided that it is not a stray.

 

It can only deflect fragments and stray bullets.

 

Anyway, PSB approved helmets are not always seen to be safe. Some riders here actually denounced it, such as there are much more recognized international standards.

I expect destructive testing according to the Singapore Standard Protective helmets for motor cyclists

SS 9: 1992.

 

Which is what the PSB does - apply destructive impact to one helmet in every batch tested.
