Hi All, how much to install open pod? Will it harm to our bike for long term?

it cost ard 100++ to 200++ depend on model... wat it can do to ur bike is add some pick up and wonderful sound. ur fc will not be as good as original coz if i not wrong u have to change the main jet to fully utilise it.

the harm that comes with it is.. water!!! the filter are design to extract dust and particles but not water .. tho its placed under ur seat .. some water might actually get into it. juz imagine wat it can do to ur piston? i dun think even combustion can take place effectively...

so there's the pros and cons, u decide( but no doubt the sound it makes ... power!!!)

so there's the pros and cons, u decide( but no doubt the sound it makes ... power!!!)

just sharing some of my thought on the air filter issue...install an open pod filter is to enable unstricted air intake for combustion. During olden days design of air boxes r not dat perfectly wonderful thus ther will be some restriction to the amount of air available for combustion so it hinders performace gains becoz x amount of fuel shld be mix wif x amount of air thus when performace upgrades requires the additional fuel to run the airbox system might hav a problem providing dat..thus altering the air filter to change it.

Installing an open pod airfilter many say it will give u an increase in pickup is 1st the initial mixture will be easily mix wif the unstricted air flow around once u open ur throttle n usually wifout perfect jetting we will end up wif more air than fuel thus running slightly lean thus a feeling dat we hav better pickup...

Next about bad FC, it is easy to understand that when we hav more air so we must hav more fuel to suit thus upsizing the carb jets r a norm so we uses more fuel

Being open pod we also face the headache of suffering damages from stuff like water, performace varies due to changes in the air around like temp n density n so on..so if ur not gonna ride ur bike at the same time of the day at the same plc EG: race track..then I will say a huge different in performace will be easliy felt in a hotter or cooler day

re-setting up the carb wif this mod is not an easy thing n also not a very difficult thing but itz a tedious process..thus my advice is IF ur ride do not need dat extra air wif dat extra fuel to enhance the extra performace gains u had made for ur bike then forget the trouble of fixing an open pod..if it is juz for looking cool n sounding nice than it is a waste of time n effort which might even cause u more problems so gd or bad u decide

:goodluck:

Water problem can be minimized by using those K&N filter oils. Or simply, some people uses 2T to coat the sponge filter. minimizes the water contact it is vulnerable to.

yeah2..CAN soaked it with K&N oil too..but its just minimising...and its not to prevent any water into it....

ur handlebar end (or we call it balancer) r too close to the throttle sleeve. Just place a washer between them will solve ur problem.
