Recently while moving off at low speeds my bike will have some heavy vibrations. At first i thought is the mainstand rub with the floor or something cos got like metal sound rubbing against concrete. It's very irritating man.

Could this be the "clutch-slip" you guys are talking about?

Any idea what causes it and any rectification soultions?

It is a clutch-slip u experiencing... I knw its irritating coz it doesn't move off smoothly and has that jerking movement... The sounds makes it even worst. Usually after i did my full servicing, it will go away until i've travelled about 10,000km the clutch will start to jerk.

Because the clutch has 3 clutch shoe, sometimes it does not open fully when u rev. 1 or 2 clutch will open thus causing the bike to jerk. It will slip too(TEHHH.....) when moving off upslope especially with a pillion.

Its a common problem bro, all my bikes since i passed my class 2B has been auto scoot. There's not much you could do but live with it. Most to most the mechanic would juz grease the clutch hinges to make the clutch shoe open better. After 8000km(or lesser) and above the jerk will resurface.

Some more i weigh ard 85kg, the clutch nd to work harder and high probALITY of slipping

so does this TEHHH problem always resurface?

btw my tehhhh problem has been greatly reduced, and i even broke my top speed limit by going 110 today..

i realise the teh sound is much much reduced, especially going upslope..

the mechanic at asphoon helped me to change a new roller plate, and also to sand off abit on some parts of it.. did some tuning, so far ok le..

Hi Brother, me again asking about Multivar. I bring back the spring to workshop ask the mechanic help me fix the spring. He told me after i fix the spring, my FC will eat alot petrol. Unless i change torque drive, it will save my FC. Then he say, this spring is hard. Then we have to throttle more to make it move. I hope all experience brother can guide me. Starting, i thought Multivar can perfome better pick up. Now become throttle more petrol to get more pick up?

first thing first why u wan to change spring?

Do u really know wats the function/reaction after u fix?

Torque driver will not really save on FC.. it just giv u faster

lighter pickup.

If u want to save FC, change ur sparkplug to a good one

especially irridiums. Setting of carburators is part of it also.

Cheers~

happy trying..

wat does FC gotta do with a torque spring???...so how does the torque driver help u to get better FC???

How does these transmission parts effect ur FC???....which mech say this to u???.....seems not logical to me leh

stop being scared...juz fix it n try n u will know

present the following questions to ur mech n c if he give u an answer..

1) What does the torque spring work??

2) If u change to the "harder" spring dat come with the multivar how much FC r u going to lose...n y??

3) How does the torque driver work??

4) How does the torque driver help u to save FC and how much can u save??

5) Ask if he owns a runner himself or any example of a runner which he had TUNE in terms of choosing the correct parts n setup to use on dat scoot to prove u that it can perform really well n hav the best FC

so how to check this temp.....if like that need to fix anything

check your wires connecting to the water temp sensor n your water temp sensor itself for a start.

As long as ur coolant is circulating n ur fan is activated regularly, no sign of leakage then ur cooling system shld STILL be working properly

Pilot is from Pirelli but the 06' model stock tyre is the regular Pirelli and not the pilot series. I've tried Pirelli, Metzeler and now curently usin Michelin Gold Standard.

Pirelli is stock tyre when i 1st bought it. Long lasting and has quite a grip but not until i used Metzeler which was a soft compound. Better grip than Pirelli but it wears down damn fast. Changed it when i had my bike for full servicing and it was already botak before i could do another full service which is another 12000km.

Unlike Pirelli, it started to botak around 18000km. And FYI, i ride aggresively. But now im using Michelin Gold Standard and damn im glad im using gold standard. Excellent drainage system for wet weather(rode in heavy rain), good grips, last long(Provided u pump periodacally).

Personally, i recommend gold standard. :thumb:

Thanks for all expert. At least now i know this mech really bully me. I should change & find another trust workshop. Starting i change open pod & LV pipe, he told me i still haven't change Multivar. So the pick up not so good. Then pay to change Multivar, he told me don't fix the spring come with Multivar. Because i haven't fix Torque Drive. Wahh.. biang ehh... I know change every part will improve whatever the need. But if change until no ending also not much different with stock, then really sad. I will find other shop to help me fix the spring & see what are the different. Very sorry to make everybody busy to advice me, although it just a small issue. Because i feel myself like robert. That why i just want to double confirm only. Pai seh...

at one point or another.. one has to Learn somewhere. some Learn the hard way. some choose the easy way out. no harm askin questions. there's Lots of info in the back pages of this thread too if one has the patience to find n read thru.

as for parts.. i'm not sure myseLf cos each one has his/her own preference. most times.. u dont even need to have everything changed to get up to speed. i've seen some runners who use stock parts.. tweak a LiL here n there.. n can stiLL run as hard as those with modded transmissions. takes time n patience to configure.. dont forget ur other parts ie. carb settings.. jet settings.. combustion.. voLtage/power distribution.. etc. aLL pLay a part.

gd Luck yo.

Pilot Sport is from Michelin....

Just Some useful tyre info to add which r the more popular 1s...if u guys had seen any better n more interesting tyres juz add on the list

Having a 14" front rim n a wide profile 13" rear it is very hard to find matching tyres for the vxr06 n newer as for scoot tyres, normally 14" n above they hav gd tyres for big CC maxi and 13" and below usually they have gd tyres for smaller CC scoots. So the sizes for the VXR06 is stuck in between.

VXR 2006 and newer

Front 120/70-14

Pilot Sport SC (Michelin)

Gold Standard (Michelin)

Hoop B03 Front (Bridgestone) - Front Only

GTS 23 / GTS 24 (Pirelli)

EVO 21 / EVO 22 (Pirelli)

Diablo Scooter (Pirelli) - Front only

ContiTwist (Continental)

ContiTwist Sport (Continental)

Sportmax GPR100 (Dunlop) - Front Only

SX01F (Dunlop) - Front Only

Rear 140/60-13

Pilot Sport SC (Michelin)

Gold Standard (Michelin)

MC29 Sporty 3+ (Sava tyres) - Rear Only *Personally Recommended*

MC16 (Sava tyres) - Rear Only

GTS 23 / GTS 24 (Pirelli)

EVO 21 / EVO 22 (Pirelli)

ME7Teen (Metzeler) - Rear Only

K61 (Heidenau) - Rear Only

ContiTwist (Continental)

ContiTwist Sport (Continental)

Tornante (Vredestein) - Rear Only

Staccata (Vredestein) - Rear Only

VXR 2005 and older

Front 120/70-12

Rear 130/70-12

Due to the popular 12" rim sizes many sports and race tyres are available.

U are able to also find race compound tyres, rain tyres to even slicks
