thanks everyone

i dropped by BP and then MM (since along same road) and found their prices are about the same (BP's price is not inclusive of IU and no freebies) but the experience is very different...

when i tried to negotiate at BP, the sales person plainly told me to buy from other shops if theirs are cheaper. i'm pretty sure my approach was befitting of a polite inquirer but the response is a let down. if pre-sales service is as such, i can't help but to seriously doubt their post-sales services. although it may be frustrating to entertain sales inquires and bargaining that may not yield results, shouldn't they realise that such activities are part and parcel of sales services. the experience at MM is pretty much a contrast. the sales staff was more willing to entertain my inquiries even though he probably knew that i was just checking out the offers. the offer worked out to be more attractive when factored in the IU and freebies (a kappa 46L box and a cheap helmet), apart from the polite service. my friend's advise of asking for freebies worked... "ask, got chance; don't ask, no chance".

suppose motortiams in singapore all rip bikers off, at least some do it more politely than others

just sharing

I quite pissed with BP too.

When i wanan sell off my BB previously. Enquired for more than 3 times full settlement got penalty, no have. Ask him wana makan the bike back? He say can makan but top up $800. After 1 month i gathered enough $$ to top up the difference so I went to him. He say sorry I cannot take. Please go settle elsewhere. WTF! He say I said yes but that was last month. I need my next month pay to gather fund right? he jus say sorry. Cannot.

So end up i told to another bike shop. They took my bike in break even! Thank God

When the fella went to do full settlement. He charged ME for full settlement $150. He tell me between shop is like tat. WTF... then personally call me again. Next time u introduce pp come. I will give u 150 "angbao" WTF... who will I intro again.

Thank a lot Mr "water" really made my day. If not for you I would have Paid u $800 unknowingly. That 150$ will be my donation to the intellectually challenged @ Serangoon Rd.

very curious about the SW's tall windscreen... will it impair the rider's forward vision in the rain when rain droplets gather on it due to surface tension? Wonder if anyone mod a wiper on it

Says a lot about their reputation and how they value repeated customers. :sian:

i paid ~$300 get get back my bike as they have not processed (admin mistakes and have forgotten?) my Dec'07 and Jan'08 payment and got my bike reprocessed. For others who may want to get from them....... please reconsider......o_O

I have survived the Dec rain period and so far so good for me. :cheeky:

Try not to spray "chemicals" to clean the wind screen as it may tarnish the wind screen ..... :)

I have gave up on B.P. ...... v.v.v. poor after sales and they have towed my bike today due to a $20 late payment fees (no default payment on installment!). Worst part is that they did not call me before this take place..... Read more details in the Traffic Police link..... :(

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160511&page=3

My previous 3 bikes from Mah has been v.v.v. nice and I will surely go back to them for the next bike. :thumb: If u bargain... the price between them r v small....... the choice is yours....... I have regretted tremendrously getting from B.P because of a couple of $$ .....:(

I bought from Loois motor. Did my own research before purchasing.

BP quote me $400 cheaper at $11800. Loois quote at $12.2K.

In the end, I bought from Loois because:

1) No hidden cost, everything in black and white in the contract.

2) Need to service loan. For Loois motor, they allow GIRO deduction. This saves me a lot of trouble. Also I view a lot of complains from forumers regarding BP installment servicing attitude.

3) After service was not bad. Nice showroom with a lot of new bikes to see..

Sometimes getting the cheapest deal doesn't mean you got the best deal.

But provided if you intend to pay 1 shot without going through bike installment, I feel we can still consider BP..

July 2004 to Nov 2006 X9 amalfi

Dec 2006 to Jan 2010 Honda SilverWing 400

Feb 2010 to Nov 2015 Honda Fit

Dec 2015 to Oct 2017 Toyota ISIS

Feb 2017 to May 2017 Honda ST1300

Jun 2017 onwards Honda Silverwing 400

I dun think the price will be the same if you pay full.Best is do your homework before you purchase any bike.

bigcow dee dee, the saying goes: "It's the rider, not the bike..."

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.
