i'm also looking around for a SW4, maybe these info i found out could be helpful:

 

M*hM: OTR: $11.7+k include COE, IU, 2P insur; freebies: 46L kappa box, helmet (cheap one of course)

BP: OTR: $11.7+k (IU not included); no freebies ... didn't ask more coz not happy with service

L**!: OTR: $11.5+k include COE, IU, 2P insur; freebies: givi box; ah lee said he has 2 left (silver n blue) and black colour will be more expensive

 

i telephoned boon siew to ask about 2008 model and was told by sales staff that 2007 & 2008 are the same; no change in engine & physical appearance, difference is... production year

 

suggest you go down in person, see/find out more about the bike (what comes with and what doesn't) and confirm final price in writing (there could be some "hidden" charges not mentioned) as different shops define OTR differently

when are you buying? maybe we can buy together and bargain for a better deal

the sound.. according to "botak" say its cos wear and tear. The dust and broken down particle stuck inside nowhere to go. Unless u can ALWAYS open up the cover and clean. If not ... jus ride it off. The sound will always be intermitten be it u like it or not. A generic trait of Swingers.

Jus like S4 when the chain is dry.... U will know a S4 zoom by when u hear one.....

But my fren did sort of "MO" for their car. 4 suzuki swift sports. Manage to bargin for lotsa freebies and lower price off the tag though....and not to mention running numbers... hahaha

Its not a slip.... When a slip happens, u can really feel the jerk...

In this case u wun feel the jerk at all... Sound only. I believe its all the dust etc being trapped at the inner surface of the clutch bell resulting the clutch shoe not being able to get a good grip of the bell at the initial moving off.

guess the discount/goodies won't be so much till the shops "tan bo jia"... probably just a slice off the fatty profit margin. we save some while they still profit from our purchase... win win situation

this sounds more like a design fault than manufacturing fault, especially when it is common among the SWs

When its a fault, it becomes a trait of the specific bike.

 

Thats where the harley exhaust came about... so much after years of evolution, it was being patented.....

I have fixed mine at Tai Hin. Works fine for me.

The only "complain' I have is that this works when the engine is switched ON. Hence if u switch off the engine, the hazard light will be OFF....

i've been thinking about it for >1 month and still not 100% sure to buy coz my phantom is giving me very good FC (39km/l). but i really liked the comfort and storage space that comes with the SW
