very curious about this parallel import thingy... what's the after sales difference? does it mean no warranty (1 year + 3 months if register online) from BS and we can only claim from the selling motortiam?

thanks :confused:

based on what i had gathered from my friends who rode silverwing, below is what i deduced from it.

1. so far, the most powerful 400cc scooter in market

2. top tested was abt 175-180km/h

3. fuel comsumption- 17-20km/L for jap version and 20-22km/L for euro one

4. handling pretty stable

5. maintainance wise; - one old timer tested till 30000km before change belt, belt condition at that moment was still pretty good.

6. few setbacks - not steel braided hoses which resulted in poorer response when braking.

- suspensions were abit soft....

- forks were abit soft too....

- bike abit too heavy as compared to similar 400cc scooters

hope these info would be useful to you/...:cool:

As reliable as always. :thumb: Keep em coming. How bout maintenance & parts availability. I was checking out eBay & found part & aftermarket toys to be a bit pricey & scarce....

hmm... so far based on my experience, the common wear and tear parts are stock readily available anytime. only certain part of fairings require ordering which normally come within 3-4 weeks after order placed..

well after market toys for this bike is a definite scarce thing. even in japan side, the few things that they play are only the exhuast,cone raiser,suspensions and forks. totally unlike yp250 where a wide range of after market parts are readily avail.

Can I actually change the brake hose to steel brake hose for a Sliverwing?

I find the brake not that effective for sudden slow down

someone told me if i buy bike using the shops' COE, the registration will show 1 transfer already done. if i use my own COE (shop can bid on my behalf), then registration shows i'm "1st" owner :p

is this true? do shops normally allow this? :confused:

Hi steele,

===>

. few setbacks - not steel braided hoses which resulted in poorer response when braking.

- suspensions were abit soft....

- forks were abit soft too....

- bike abit too heavy as compared to similar 400cc scooters

===>

For the setback part,

-Rear suspension I imported Hagon shocks from UK. Now my swing corners like my previous sports bike without the "drifting effect".

-Front fork redone-> Changed internat spacer to ~5cm longer.

-The weight is not a drawback but advantage if you go touring. The weight plays a part on the stability when u are cruising @ higher speed ie 120km/hr

can be done @ motoworld. :smile:

might need to wait for shipment cause they don't really keep stock for scooters. :sweat:

or alternatively, can check with motovation for their venhill brake lines. :smile:
