any ff with reasonably good protection, plain coloured helmets to recommend? planning to lock outside the bike..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Hi guys, I am currently using Arai RX7-RR4 helmet and after wearing it, i find that the BROW VENTILATION SYSTEM is not working in the sense that no air is coming to the upper area of the head. Didn't have that problem with my previous Arai helmet that is not RX7-RR4.

Anyone facing the same problem or know ways to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello there

You need to physically check whether any airflow is goin through the Brow Vents by (well this is how I did it) grabbing a hairdryer and blowing the air through the vents, while you're wearing the helmet. Sometimes the flow is restricted by the inner liner. The brow ventilation works by diverting the airflow DOWN to your brows.

Im using an old Arai RX7-RR3 (Doohan Rep) and an Arai Profile. Im not too sure about your RX7-RR4, but my Profile's brow ventilators have 2 slits at the flat surface. This is how the airflow goes through to your brows; by diverting the air slightly DOWN. If yours also has 2 slits, then you can rectify by widening the 2 slits (Im starting to sound a little dirty-minded) such that the airflow will head down to your brows.

Hope this helps a little. Arai helmets are masterpieces of protective equipments, so it seldom goes wrong. If it does, you can always head down to Chiap Lee; they always do parts replacement of old Arais.

Cheers

The more reputable one all have Shoei. Think Chong Aik is one of them.

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.
