but then again , both my bikes are already fully paid for . the rest is up to u to decide .

This is very, very good advice to follow. I remember when before i first got my bike, all my friends told me,

"You going back school right after NS?"

"You don't want to work part time while schooling right?"

"You just need the bike to carry your things and your books and bag ah?"

"Ya..."

They told me to get any 2B ah pek street bike, (RXZ, YBR, GN125, EN125, CG etc.) and pay for the damn thing in full cash.

And i never looked back. Every time, i just need to worry about petrol, parking and ERP. Thats it. Insurance and road tax, every year and half a year respectively.

Of course my bike slow and gets very boring at times, but better slow and boring rather than fast and expensive. You know ah, i think SP maintenance is still cheaper than my bus fare go to school everyday sia. Haha.

If you want ah, we can start to open a thread in chatter box to teach people how to manage their personal finances.

Anyway, back to TS dilemma.

You need to calculate which option gives your more loss in the long run. Stick with SP, you lose money. Buy spark, you lose money. The question is which one you lose more money. You need to take into consideration factors like COE to petrol to daily running costs. For me, my bike costs about $2.80 to run per day (Inclusive of just petrol, road tax and insurance).

Oh well.

like one of the member said try tune ur fuel delivery... tat would be one of the option. Please take note that vehicle is aging, tires condition, your riding habit etc has direct influence on your fuel consumption

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Hmm, from the looks of it, you've had the bike for about 8 mths, which means you have not changed tires yet? Well now, if let's say you have trouble maintaing the running costs, how then, would you be able to fork out for a reasonable set of tires? Would you risk kissing the asphalt because of some really cheap tires, or worse, 2nd hand ones?

That's just one of the costs you might want to mull over. I used the tires as an example as they take up a reasonably large chunk of the cost at a single seating.

As a fellow member put it, in order to see savings between a 4T and a 2T, it takes a substantial amount of time. But since you mentioned that you'd be going 2A and with an S4 pretty soon, why then, don't you consider selling the SP now, and save up money for your 2A? Don't forget that you still need money for 2A lessons..

In my most humble opinion, sell the SP, 1 time pain, save up for lessons and when you reach a stage of having stable income, then consider getting the bike that you like. Rather than changing to a Spark, and just a few months down the road, you'd want to get an S4, which most likely than not, we'd see you posting here again..

I once had my coolant washed before, it gets better in a bit though, just wondering comparing heating up, which is lesser? Spark or sp?

And to check with any bros out there, sparks with clutch tank 4litre? So let's say 40km/litre so maximum is 160km then needa pump again?

ya u r rite ...

IMHO if u r upgrading to 2A i don't think is wise to buy a spark ...

stay with your sp bah ... save the $$$ than get your 2A bike ....

guys, how is the relative value of an SP to a spark in the open market? If TS can sell the SP and get a Spark without additional $$ outlay, may worth the change rite? There's still the transfer cost / insurance surrender /road tax costs but this shud be minimal..

2nd hand spark or 1st hand? Might as well get 1st because if want bigger bike can just keep the spark as a side bike. If the SP is in good condition, COE till 2020, still can cover insurance, initial downpayment, road tax etc.

Truthfully nope... And i assume people means bith men and women...

To TS: Keep the SP at the moment.. Inflation coming and looking at the current economic situtation we just can't predict when we'll be jobless... Just my 2 cents worth

ya lor.. a fully paid 2b bike is quite cheap to maintain every month. the only expensive thing is the yearly insurance which seems to be daylight robbery for people who are younger :sian:

although your insurance is finally starting to get cheaper, you have already been daylight robbed by those insurance companies with those amounts you paid over the years :(

I know. Ridiculous man. Why is a young man like me paying $320 for 3rd party YBR insurance. I feel it should be $100 plus only.
