Did the same thing as most bikers here.... Just when ahead for lessons.. I got caught taking bike lesson when my RTT results was send to my home..He F me up and said no motorbike. I hack care and continued taking lessons, Got bike, Mother saw..Paotoh to my dad..Dad threaten to burn my bike down, I replied i had Fire Insurance and then He paid for my 1st installment as a sought of Ritual. After all this years, I came to realize that lots of his Army boys had been killed while riding bikes, So he was just worried.

My father is like.. F me up + chaos + table flying + chairs flying if he really REALLY actually caught me. How much you actually paid for fire insurance? ANd i dont think i would ride if i in NS..

Personal experience. Though not from my dad, a former Harley rider. Its my wife who make noise.

 

She was then my gf. Well, i told her i getting bike license. She and my mom protested for a almost week, thus i say "ok Ok lah"...

 

Next day, i went for enrollment and soon i got my 2B. They protested again and dun buy bike i say "Ok Ok lah"

 

Next day, i was at hong leong getting my brand new Tw200. They protested again and ask me to sell..........thus i say "ok Ok lah"

 

1 year later, i did sell the bike and got myself a 400cc cruiser.....they kept quiet but i still say "Ok Ok la i will sell la.

 

Very soon, My harley road king is coming......very soon

No.1 concern for parents is the safety issue. Got to show that you are responsible. ATGATT. Get proper gear, don't ride in slippers and singlet. Show them that you are taking precautions in protecting yourself when riding.

Haha, took me 3 months to stop hearing complains of me riding after i "bought" my bike.. haha..

 

But now, after my last accident with a fractured toe.. Have to reconvinced them that it's ok to ride.. hai~

Parents nag, they forbid, cos they CARE! They took great pains to bring up their child, not to lose them on e tarmac and metal blocks.

 

It took me many years to 'grant' myself e permissions to take bike license, b'cos i jnow I'm now much more sensible not to get into trouble. Some smart alec told me, you've never rode a bike till u had ur share of accidents.

 

I love myself too much to prove that point.

You should just listen to your parents and not ride. Respect them. Are you going to get into an argument with them because of silly motorcycles? I think not right... Remember, parents you only got one. So just be a peach and take public transport. Safer for you and also there will be peace of mind for your parents.
