Hi fellow riders,

do you guys have any recommendation for full face helmets that does not fog easily and does not leak in rainwater through top of the visor?

Fogging

I am not looking for Pinlock or any additions, just a good helmet with good airflow and minimal fogging, especially when it rains.

Water Leakage

Some helmets I used have this irritating issue of rainwater bypassing through the rubber seal and the visor, resulting in streaks of water inside the visor.

Irritating to say the least, dangerous when you can't see sh*t on the road during downpours.

Do you guys have any recommendations on a full face helmet that fits these 2 criteria?

Thanks!

I am using the HJC IS-MAX.

Fogging is a big problem to me for this helmet.

For the water ingress, it seems the rubber seal on the helmet is not perfect. Seriously a 'can't see sh*t' situation. :D:D:D

HJC familee, I using AC-11. It only fogs when I stop my bike in a rainy day. No leaking issue.

When first came it dun fogs, but after a while the de-fogging material starts going. Either get around it or use some anti-fog spray ba.

haha.. hjc users.. construction, thinks ur hjc mayb the defect one ?? ur case jialat.. fog plus water leakage.. i guess all anti fog wont fog when riding, onli when it comes to stop then it starts to fog... im kinda of sick wif the fog of FF for cold weather or rainy day, so if rain i use normal helmet... btw my hjc fs max, nv encounter heavy rain, so my comment for water leakage can viod... tiny rain gt la, but no issue...

i guess for fog, u should buy wat kaiq recommended, but no use for u as water leaks in will wash it away...

Think almost all helmet have this fogging issue. It just a matter of how often and easily it will fog. This is also why they make the visor able to be left slightly open for defogging purposes. Even top end helmet won't be spared. As for the leakage issue, you have to check the helmet physically for the rubber seal if there is any opening when the visor is closed.

Am personally using MHR FF, I would say the fogging is not that bad compared to my previous Arai. However it got the slight leakage issue.

As for how to deal with fog, you can try those anti fogging spray or lens. I used before Fogcity addon anti fog shield. I would say quite good.

im using d cheapest hjc cl-st.. leaking no prob.. but fogging can be bad wen slow-moving or stationary.. but it comes wif a breath-guard... fogging reduces a great deal... i fix it on during nite rides/raining...

A ride a day, keeps the doctor away!

The best way is to installed a Pinlock Anti-Fog Visor Insert. I used it on my Arai & Shoei Multitec. Not even a tiny fog. 100% satisfaction.

Thanks for the replies. :)

Fogging issue, I usually leaves a small gap to resolve the issue but when it rains, it's not possible as the rainwater soon streaks down the visor and makes for very poor vision.

The HJC IS-MaX which I am using now is a entry level flip up. Good for sunny days with the integrated shades and day-today riding, but let down by the water ingress.

Also noisy as hell.

The HJC embossed logo on the helmet cracked and disintegrated during a 8 hour sun- rain ride along the NSH.

Says alot about the quality. :D

Pinlock - I went to the website and saw that now they got this 'transition' version, where it works the same as normal transition glasses. Interesting.

Will be looking around for a suitable replacement, which I guess will take some time cos my helmet needs to tick alot of boxes. :D

Cheers.

When you lift up the visor slightly, the rubber seal might not be able to mate fullly to the visor. It a give and take situation. But water seeping in is much better than fogging up, imho. So far the helmet I used, Arai's visor can be left open only slightly for defogging while minimising the gap between the rubber seal and visor. But then there will still be slight water seeping in.

As for the Fogcity transistion visor, I used it before. Motoworld selling at $50. But not really very useful against the sun even when it is fully tinted. It will turn pale blue and not dark. A point to note, although they mentioned pinlock but you will still have to stick it onto the visor.

Bro, it very hard to get helmet of many expectation. You win some, you lose some. Maybe you can go http://www.webbikeworld.com for helmet review. I'm also in the mood for a new helmet. Most probably a Shoei Qwest. Quite cheap for a reputable brand.

Ya, trying to get a good compromise on the helmet selection.

The Shoei Qwest has a slit for spectacles/ eye glasses which is good, but does not come with an integrated shades.

Got to weigh the pros and cons carefully, after all it's going to be used daily. :D

I ride with a AGV Stealth SV. So far, there is no water leakage which I'm really happy about. But having said that, there is minor fogging when the rain gets heavy.

I'm currently testing to see if rainx would clear up the problem

HJC have some issues with their visor mechanism. Not smooth at all. Thought it's my helmet only but went to motorworld mostly the same. But during a cold rainy ride none of my helmets keeps me warm like my HJC.

As for my fogging using the breath deflector eliminates like 80pct of it. No water leakage issue.

My agv k3, no leakage, nice seals. Fogging... maybe I breathe the air quite warm as compared to the air in the helmet, always when close it fogs so most of the time I leave it at the defogging spot, but in rain and cool weather, don't really fog up. (Y) Can try.

for foggin u can use those anti-foggin solutions dey use for swimmin goggles..cost abt $15 at mustafa. but sum swimmers prefer to use saliva as another option :D
