in term of power in mid and top range, sports have better top but naked will have better mid range power to use, if i am not wrong, sport bikes suppose to be lighter than naked bike because they are design to have best power to weight ratio to maximise the power output.

in term of handling for daily usage naked bike should be better because they can better turning radius. fuel consumption wise, naked bike should be lesser than sports.

I think the main difference is the handling and riding posture. Sport bikes come with the latest technology while street street bike using 2-3 years back tech(Jap Bike).

I have also passed S1000RR, CBR 1000 etc drivers, but that's why I'm asking the difference between same driver in same lap, only a different bike under the driver.

usually naked/street bike inherit the engine from supersports bike, high performance and yet reliable. Like many has highlight that the bike has better low/mid range torque. Its far more comfortable ride in the country/touring mode. :thumb:

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

there's always this talk about street bikes having better low/mid range torque and sportsbike having lousy low/mid and good high range torque. i used to say the same thing, until i tried a sportsbike.

generally, naked bike is heavier than sportsbike. comparing same year of the 2 models.

a sportsbike, with a twist of the throttle it can really accelerate. more torque and feel than a street bike. to me the reason to choose a street bike than a sportsbike is storage space.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Thank God....finally someone who speaks sense and has actually rode a sportsbike before! You saved the day ;)

At very low speeds, the sportsbike just feels sluggish, awkward and difficult to turn and handle. I'm talking about trying to maneuver my R1 around a crowded car park or small street filled with passers-by and other traffic.

Once I'm in the clear, the beauty is actually willing me on to let the reins go and boy, can she fly! Have handled a Super 4 before and it just feels more refined and gentle. It's more comfortable riding posture means that you will most likely adopt a 'safer' riding mentality. On a sportsbike, the aggressive position makes you feel like you want to be a speeding badass everytime you get on and you just happen to flick the throttle. Having said that, I do think that you can still be a speed demon on a naked bike, just that it's probably easier to behave like one on a R6/R1 than on a CB1000/FZ1 for example.

I used to be a car person. Then one day, I woke up and became a biker.

Ex rides:

Nissan Sunny 1.6

Nissan Cefiro 2.0

Honda CBR 150 R

Honda CBR 400 RR Fireblade

Current rides:

Yamaha 2008 YZF-R1

KIA Cerato Forte 1.6 Well OK sometimes a car comes in handy.

To each his own la imo.

I believe when it comes to class 2, theres more than enough power to make the difference whether got low end power or high end power seems minor. If every day usability, not much comes close to motards and 2B bikes huhuhu. Easy to handle, cheap, very slim profile. Go JB during peak timings and tell me which one you prefer lololol.

Not many of sportsbike riders actually go to track and utilise the bike to it's potential.

(Then again, not many of the adventure bike riders went off road anyway. :))

Naked bikes with it's raised and relatively straight handlebar and better riding position is probably for everyday rides.

Anyway, buying a bike is all about a matching of compromises.

Want nice looking bike with practicality? There are a host of naked/ semi faired bikes to choose from.

seriously no body mentioned suspension? one is freaking hard while the other is softer and comfy. which explains why one shuold corner faster than the other, other than the difference in tuning of the similar engine

riding a sportsbike makes me feel very attached with the bike as one while riding.

somehow i feel safer myself riding a sportsbike despite its aggressive ride posture.

naked bike on the other hand has its pros of a much comfortable seating posture and relatively easier handling..

sluggish, i dun think so. but yeah if you talk about maneuver like U-turn, low speed turning etc, then i think a naked bike is easier.

dun think any1 would prefer their c2 bikes when its a jam at the customs. myself included.

yeah rider comfort is another reason to choose naked bikes.

dunno which is which.. but i assume freaking hard refers to sportsbikes? but sportsbikes can adjust suspension, i think you want how soft also can. some naked bikes also come with adjustable suspension, which you can also adjust.
