Hi bros,

Just for discussion purpose. I'm intending to buy helmets online considering it is cheap. I'm also heading to thailand in one months time, thus am considering still.

Yep, if possible, read Webbikeworld for reviews as they do have suggestions for fitting. Especially if you know your head type.

Try it on locally if possible and get the lowest prices for comparison on overseas prices after conversion and shipping.

Could be much cheaper too, as some websites offer low shipping rates or flat fees.

only difference is the PSB approved sticker.

however, which are the best online helmet sites?

Unless you are picky with PSB sticker, otherwise i find the most reputable online dealer for motorcycle accessories has been RevZilla.com . They've got a pretty nice range of equipment to buy, but its rather pricey. So i suggest only buying stuff online for models that u die die want to have but dont sell in Singapore

Oh come on, its not totally that bad. Just need to do your homework a bit before you buy online. But still perfectly viable option to get something u can never get locally.

I've bought around 10 full face helmets from eBay, mostly shipped from US. Lotsa HJC, 1 KBC, 1 Scorpion, 1 Shark, etc. My HJC AC-11 I got it from eBay :) Now only this helmet is with me.

Here what I recommend.

1) Only buy reputable brands. I only go for Snell certified.

2) Only buy brand new helmets no matter how "good" a used helmet can be described. Don't trust their description fully.

3) Don't buy a helmet more than 3 or 4 years old from manufacturing date. The cushion might be falling apart.

4) Buy only if cheaper by more than $XX locally. You decide the amount and whether the risk you take is worth this amount.

5) Since you're unable to try the sizing, be ready to sell your helmet at a loss if it doesn't fits well.

6) Helmet die die must be shipped in a box, with all accessories in it. For me I always insist on the original box.

7) Selling your unwanted helmet isn't fun, be ready to be very patient.

For the reference, I usually aim helmets less than $200 as it's easier to sell if I don't like, unless you're talking about Arai or Shoei.

Forgot to say. First approach is to find it locally. Do your research first. If the price margin with online is slight only, might as well buy here.

Your reply is the best. I have screened through threads till 3 years back. Yours give the most valid points covering many dimensions.

Nice write up! I bought KBC helmet from eBay with no problems.

But better to try size first cus sometimes when they indicate head circumfrance 60-61cm, actually its big. Take for example the Bell helmets. They are one size bigger.
