woohoo. finally confirmed a buyer for my current bike. Let's hope shipment doesn't screw up and I will get my bike by mid Sept.

Btw, anyone with the Puig or Ermax screen so far? I think they are the nicest tall screen currently. Any feedback?

Congrats! Post pics when you collect bike!

Waiting for puig screen to arrive in a couple of weeks time at mtechnik.

This look pretty good...

Lockable soft luggage. Solved all the problem about durability. Only issue is need to put rain cover which could be troublesome in our local climate.

But this look small and chic.

it is nc700x

Oh no.

It too tall for me.

Anyway, thanks for your input. :)

The clip mentioned waterproof zippers :)

well, it's still a zipper bag so gotta remove when not in use, another reason is leaving this material in the sun might cause colour fading... but it will be a good thing to have for a little extra space needed while touring

Is there a difference between NC700X and NC700X DCT in terms of performance spec?

Saw on the first page that Power, torque and front caliper are different no?

Another question, to go Manual or DCT?

DCT should be reliable for up north no? If it breaks not that it will. Just want a more realistic scenario.

DCT have rear parking brake and cannot gear start. If battery is flat for manual, can it be push started for NC700X?

Thanks:cheeky:

The zips r lockable n the bags can b locked on the mounting... But color fading.., hmm. Not sure abt it.

Jus my 2cts comments since all my info came from online reading. Lol.

I think theres a slight difference in high end torque. But i cant remember where i read it from. In any case, they r e same engine, the difference wil not be that great.

Manual or dct.. No one have proved the dct in long term. My fren wil be riding his vfr1200 dct to chiang mai this nov, maybe we wil know later?

But so far, in all forums, no one been complaining abt dct. So, i dont think it will spoil easily, but the question wil b more of, wat can we do when it is down?

For me, i wil choose manual over dct, cos i like to play with clutch. Have rode silverwing n tmax previously, n wil like it for ease of ride, but dont feel too much control..

For push start of dct.. I dunno..

lockable zips are good to have but the ziped line can be opened up with a simple sharp tool like a pen or needle, best not to leave anything inside... thats what i learned on youtube about locking your luggage is pointless as a pen poking into the zip line is enough open it up without touching the zip or lock

dct might have a smoother acceleration as there is no need to cut off the power but the top speed might not be able to match the manual ones. and u can choose auto mode if you're lazy to chg gears and if im not wrong it does give a slightly better fuel consumption. the risk of dct having problem is unknown but if it does happen i dont tink alot of mech know how to fix it yet. the manual one sld be able to push start but not sure about the dct model. so to me safest option will be the manual

Point taken regarding the zip. I neglected that the zip wil stil be the most vulnerable..

Then my best possible option could be the Givi V35. But the width will be increased by alot.. Gonna make it troublesome at times..

i tink one of the ncx guys ordered the v35 before, but i tink it will look pretty huge, best bet is get junior 30 side pannier or if u want to take the risk, 30l xplorer side pannier

dont worry about the single brake disc, its strong enough... complimented by lots of review that this single brake disc is actually pretty good, not to mention its also waved disc

Hmm. Now, for ard same price as the nc700x base model, i can get the S model with abs/cbs.

Ugh.. How? Any opinions?

Bro, totally different variants. Really depends on your likes. For the X, won't be able to go serious off road thus usage will be similar to S which is mostly tarmac riding. I do know some ppl like the black engine outlook of the S. Personally I like the X outlook, more adventurous and riding posture slightly more upright for me.

Posted

depends on which u like better, if u prefer touring setup my opinion is to go NCX if you like it naked go NCS... NCX do have a little power advantage thou... and imo ncx looks better with the accessories available in the market...

anyone here familiar in importing exhaust and getting LTA's approval? the only one available in sgp is moriwaki which is too ex =( hope to have leo vince, yoshi, akra etc for better price

Posted

I believe we will be getting Akrapovic and Leo Vince ehaust soon.

Btw, I chose to wait for the NCX, because, I want a more upright riding postures, and there's more farklings available. I would also prefer a better posture and wind protection over the brakes...

Anyway, anyone seen the Honda OEM panniers personally? Is the width within the handlebars width? I couldnt find info abt this. It just look slightly narrower than the v35..

Hmm. based on the available info online.

Here's my deduction of the panniers' width...

Hmmm. Price wise, they are considered competitive if purchase from japan webike..

the v35 will be alot wider than than oem, its better to get the oem if width is your concern... imo the v35 looks too big for our bike too, cosmatic wise the oem will fit perfectly since it's ment for this bike anyway
