noticed some seem to be using car engine oil for motorcycles

Don't think it's a wise choice as motorcycle engine oil have anti-foaming properties which car engine oil doesn't (just different formulation, not inferior)

For short trips may not have much harm but not for long trips

Amazon offers free shipping for selected engine oils (I have been getting my Mobil 1) above USD125

Just make sure you select free shipping option - delivers right up to my doorstep and cheaper than buying from outside

@Hydher

What your review of this oil? Feel like getting a few bottle for scooter. No wet clutch.

Can buy. Feels like an expensive oil but its no mobil 1. But try a bottle first.

This offer is often.

used this before on my motorbike, only complain is thin for old bike. scooter, no transmission no clutch use, almost any oil would work. last time i put 5 -30 0-40 5-40 15-40 all also can.

My scooter call for a 30 weight. For our weather 40 weight is fine too so I won't worry about it getting a bit thin.

My only concern is it almost impossible to get any detail about this oil. But it on the market for about 5 years now and the review is pretty good. So I thought of giving it a go.

Not yet. but seriously considering it.

it cost about SGD 14 after converting and can treat up to 45 litres. my bike hold 13 litres so it good for 3 treatment.

for $16, you can get Redline SI-1 with about 90 ml more. still, if you are interested in the Chevron stuff, it cheaper then buying in Singapore.

Redline SI-1 and Techron concentrated plus is using the same group of detergent polyether amine(PEA). words through the grapevine is Redline SI-1 contain a higher percentage of PEA although no way to tell are they from the same group.

why do you think that car engine oil anti-foaming properties is not as good as motorcycle engine oil? which standard for motorcycle engine oil anti-foaming tendency that you think is superior then car engine oil?

According to JASO T903:2011 Part B:

Foaming Tendency/Stability (ml), max

Sequence I -10/0

Sequence II - 50/0

Sequence III - 10/0

Any decent modern car oil will meet and surpass this standard. I don't understand why do you think car engine oil is not as good as motorcycle oil in this aspect? any reasons for that? thanks.

That chevron cleaner i saw at caltex. I believe its 17-19.

Im using marvel mystery oil when i need to.

I used idemitsu but the semi synthetic version.

It is very smooth but i feel that the bike has less torque.

Im using castrol $8 power 1 from lab now.

Love the smell

lab still selling castrol power 1 for $8? i tot they have increased the price to $10.

was at a bike shop in JB when i over heard the shop owner telling one of his regular customer to choose another oil when he took castrol oil off the shelf. he mentioned that he seen lots of bike need to be overhaul from using castrol. he pick another oil that is similar in pricing for his customer so i assume he is not trying to push something more expensive. i went over to ask him what he mean by castrol is bad. he told me the same story adding that castrol oil tend to evaporate at a faster rate.

take it for what it worth. i have no idea whether is it true. maybe it due to the fact that there is alot of fake oil in malaysia market.

Check up Rotella T product data sheet. JASO MA2 rating and under application guideline stated suitable for motorcycle.

i got it off amazon. about $29 USD so it work up to about slightly below $6.50 SGD per bottle after conversion.

perhps if u get 2 bottles of 1gallon(3.785 litres) around 7.57litres for $30usd would be more bang for ur buck?

I'm personally using rotella t6 @21.74usd a gallon and either of these are recommended to use in a motorcycle engines coz of the jaso ma2 rating.

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that
