never put your trust in any mechanics even they r from reputable shops, most will screw up your bike.

always follow manufacturers' manual.

if i'm not mistaken, read sp owner's manual b4, it recommend 4T engine oil for gearbox.

many 2-strokers owners' manual recommends 4T engine oil in their gearbox.

reason is becoz of wet-clutch unless your bike is dry-clutch then gear oil is recommended.

hmm, point taken, since u looked at the manaul already.

never had any issues at all with the Motul gear oil in my SP though. smooth shifts most of the time. very satisfied with the performance. anyway, that was so long ago, for all i know, my SP already scrapped le. :cheeky: :cheeky:

Hi Bro...

I highly suspect you have used the Pro 4 Plus 10W50... which is no doubt a race oil.

However, my question to you is, "In what conditions are you using your bike? Is it for daily commuting? Trackdays or Raceday ?"

The Pro 4 ( without the "Plus" ) series eg. Pro 4 10w40, is sufficient to use on daily rides and short trips while the Pro 4 15W50 would be recommended for long rides up north. These are also Race oils as per the Pro 4 Plus Series. What makes them different is the "Plus" has more additives for that particular extreme race requirement thus the higher price tag.

At Silkolene, we emphasize the usage of the right oil for the right purpose and many of our customers have benefited from this primary principle.

for everyday commuting n trackdays.....:)

DIY oil change or bring it to any bike shop n let them do oil change service.

place to buy:

tai hee electric trading.

tanjong pagar road.

singapore 082002.

price: S$17.50/btl.

max-cycle for motorcycle use.

10w-40 for watercool bikes.

20w-50 for air-cool bikes.

motor oil = S$11.50/btl for car use only.

check your bike manual how much oil needed to fill with/without oil-filter change.

and this is for royal purple?

Alrights.... Thanks guys!

Btw. I read the reviews on the car royale purple oils and its like extremely good.

Does the rating still stand for the max cycle oils?

Dun want to put crap oil into my new fazer.

=\

And i should be using which version of the max cycle?

10-40?

Posted

yes, fazer is watercool bike.

brand new bike, rp web site recommend use max-cycle eo after run-in or break-in period.

since rp don't have semi-syn or mineral eo, use any other brand.

Bro, in my honest and 2 cents worth of opinions..the reason you're feeling better using 300V is bcos the oil is thinner..I've used 300V before and YES the feeling is shioked for the first 1000km or LESS..after that you will feel the shiok have gone and you need to change eo again..

Maybe previously you used Silkolene Pro 4 Plus is because the oil is thicker that's why you don't feel shiok..

Well again..there are many distributors and salesman of eo here to give more tots and maybe rubbished my opinions.. :cheeky:

Juz my 2 cents..
