Just to clarify and also i may ve misunderstood ur post.

"Some things beyond our control. Nothing we can do"

We can ride safe, given way to idiot drivers dun rise up to their challenge?

"focus should not be on ourselves. Should be on bad drivers"

Partly agree but if bad drivers dun change then we ve to up our game to avoid or evade them rather than just praying they will change? If they dun change we can only wait to die?

These were my thoughts when read ur post. Sry if i misunderstood!! Sry in advance. :)

actually my posts were referring to the context of the Ferrari accident according to the first post and the topic title.

like the Ferarri driver beating the red light with such an insane speed is really something that is beyond our control. there's really nothing we can do with regards to such extreme and crazy behavior on the road.

and although i said there's nothing we can do, i don't literally mean we should do nothing. of course we must still ride safe and up our game to avoid or evade them like what you have mentioned. ;)

however when faced with such extreme and crazy behavior like the Ferarri driver, i am afraid we can only lan lan suck thumb.

anyway please don't apologize, you have done nothing wrong :)

Sadly i agree. In e event a speeding car comes from behind, doubt any of us can react in time. In fact, may not even see it coming.

My Apology is required as I jump the gun and misunderstood your meaning. ^^ Live and let live, ride longer!!

it is not easy as the speed of ferrari travelling mean it is quite some distance away when the light turn green. it just a matter of chance it hit the faster taxi instead of the slower one which capture the incident on tape.

Today while riding, was surprised to see some guy driving and using his ipad at the same time. That's worse that using a handphone while driving.

More ppl getting complacent these days.

What ts said is correct.

Check left and right before accelerating.

But, who will do that? Most of us will be at the front lane. When green light, we will be the first one moving then the cars.

I believed everything is predestined. But we can prevent it if we take precautions.

take MRT will be safe

Got one pedestrian that day who might ganna if he did not jay walk and cross the junction while lights were red. So dun ride also not safe also.

I doubt any amount of checking could have prevent this kind of freak accident.

If it's your time to go, it is time.

Fully agreed...

Quote from the survivoring motorcycle, Najib: ""The moment I turned my head to look, I saw the tyre of the taxi coming towards me !

How to avoid ? Only way is to "cheat death"... Ride save...

i almost had something similar with the ferarri . i have to admit its my fault also but lucky didnt get into accident.

was driving rushing home around midnight. stuck in traffic and i really REALLYY need to go toilet. at the last traffic light toward my house area, near the traffic light, it turned green, so i didnt even slow down a bit. its a four way junction, im going straight.

the moment i at the trafficlight, i caught a glimpse of a bike on my right moving towards me (my traffic light is still green) i know if i stop, i will just hit him. so i goes pedal to the metal. and managed to zoom tru pas the bike .. just barely . i slowed down and saw the bike stopped in the middle of the road and when i wanna stop , he just continue his journey.

my traffic light is green. the biker is red. its my turn to drive but i also at fault for not looking at other junction. the biker just move despite his light is red but slowly. im just glad nobody got hurt by both of our stupidity . i should know better. that traffic light also is famous with bikers, drivers especially delivery trucks/lorry not following the traffic lights.

ZXR250 --> TXR150 --> TZM150 --> FXR150 --> DUC148 XD --> GSXR750G --> CBR919 --> GSXR600K4 --???

 letting off GSXR600K4 -PM me ....downgrading to KTM200

I noticed Singaporeans expect vehicles to stop for them to jaywalk, no patience to wait. I noticed their behavior are like flattened cats on the road, see road, dash across. Even dogs have more crossing sense.

cannot make it man. 2 days ago was at lentor on the first lane, it was during the peak hours so confirm jam. was slowly following this mercedes from behind. skali he jammed break all of a sudden and wanted to change to the 2nd lane to proceed straight. had to jam break. luckily break in time. but 2 seconds later a super loud horn was sounded from behind me. me and my pillion looked behind and it was a trailer. less than 1m from my bike. the apek in the trailer ended up pointing and cursing at the mercedes driver for doing such a selfish and reckless action. when i passed the mercedes driver he dont dare to look at me or ask for paiseh. dumb ass idiot. thank god i survived that night.

actually the biker in this situation very suay. Most of us biker like to squeeze to the front at traffic lights and once green we chiong already. I guess the only way you can protect yourself from a situation like the ferrari driver one is to let some cars go first... give an extended delay, and look to check that cars have stopped at the other traffic light... other than that, if some cb kia gonna run the red and not care about others, it's really just see whether you heng suay or not.

People say that riding at night is most safe. But i don't think so especially those roads near to clubs/pubs/bars or long stretch of road. Drivers tend to speed faster than during daytime.

Speeding drivers not the issue, drivers changing lanes without looking then an issue, even then I'm already going faster than a speeding driver most of the time hahahaa
