Yupz, i did the "tour" of shops.

Anyone heard or opinions on a brand call "Rev'IT" - at Chiap Lee. Found that seems to be the best. A lot of jackets have this plasticky inner layer which I feel will just stick to my back. The "Rev'IT" seems to be best in color and design and a nice inner layer.

Hv to go by Motoworld again to relook at Dainese.....

Rev'it is a good quality brand... but still too thick. Similar quality and features to A*Star, but with more commuter/tour styling.

Motoworld carries Spidi. JR is the only agent for Dainese, AFAIK.

I've been using Komine and RS Taichi mesh jackets for the past 5 years. Cost me $150 - $200 for each of those jackets.

Urban riding 60km everyday in highway and in traffic , touring to Malaysia and Thailand. Rain or sun. Jams and all.

If it is good enough for a average Joe like me, I think it's good enough for most people. :)

If a branded jacket cost $800, I would prefer to spend it on a decent jacket($200), gloves($100), FF helmet ($300)and riding boots ($200) for the same $800.

I am just not convinced by those waterproof armour jackets though. It will cook you when not raining, and probably not 100% in heavy downpours.

When rain, just wear the raincoat over it.

Brosh - online.

BMW - Performance Motors Parts & Accessories.

Care to share your experience with Brosh jacket? Quality? Armor? Material? Size?

Best airflow and protection, go for Motoport Kevlar Mesh. Order it online with custom fit and lifetime warranty. Use Skype and give Wayne a call and he will talk you through. Around 400+. Bear in mind you will probably get wet in heavy rain.

this brand Cortech can also be considered.

However, with the budget of 400, you can also look at the Dainese Shotgun. It's not too bad too.

is it difficult to install and remove detachable inner lining on a mesh jacket?

It's not difficult to learn, but it's definitely a hassle. Imagine standing by the side of the road in the rain - you need to take off the mesh jacket, put in the liner, attach it at various points and then put the jacket back on. Pulling a raincoat over your mesh jacket is much quicker, and more effective than a liner IMHO.

Not to mention that with the liner inside, the outer mesh shell will still get soaked, whereas a raincoat will protect both you and the jacket. I tried the liner route when I got my first mesh jacket, found it wasn't worth the trouble. That's my 2c :)

If everything seems under control, you're simply not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti
