Got fine for nothing

Hi all bro,I receive a fine letter from LTA.

Saying that I park my bike unattended along unbroken yellow lines,at bedok reservoir road.But on that day,I drive my car to Malaysia with my wife.

I have send them(LTA) a letter,to investigate this case.

Today I just receive back other letter,

saying that they have verified with the

enforcement officer.

So anyone can help me,what can I do?Pls

Where was your bike? Did you parked it in a proper lot? Do you have subrider? Or did anyone have access to your key. It'll be serious for anyone to ride a bike without insurance.

 

You can show your passport to the LTA to show that you were in Malaysia on the day of the offence. Do you have any receipts from Malaysia that shows the time, that will prove beyond reasonable doubt that you cannot be at Bedok Reservoir at the time of the offence?

I park my bike at defu heavy vehicle carpark.

But in the bike lot.

I'm using macs,so no stamp on my passport.

I only got 1 bike key,and alway with me.

And now they fine is the bike not the person

You're paying the fine, isn't it? So that means LTA assumed that you rode your bike and left it at Bedok Reservoir along unbroken yellow lines.

 

You should have receipts of your expenditure in Malysia?

 

Any witnesses or camera at Defu Heavy Vehicle park?

 

Check with Customs and see if they have record of your entry and leaving of Malaysia, should prove beyond doubt.

 

Also, could be a bike thief using your plate number as a decoy, check with LTA, the model of your bike. The enforcement officer should know.

Ya... Singapore customs should have records and also there theres the possibility the bike has fake plates.

Dun worry if ur story is true. I am sure the enforment officer will have taken a picture before issuing the summons. I wonder if they will release the photo to you to confirm. Anyway it is very worrying if there is a similar plate out there.

 

Usually if the bike is summon in Bedok Reservoir....chances are the bike will be roaming around that area. If can find the bugger, body slam em!!!

No point showing them your passport or what to prove that you're not in Singapore. Like what TS said, they summon the bike also not the person. Anyway, your Notice of Parking Offence

If you're 100% sure that that's not your bike, why not report to police immediately?

 

This is a very serious matter. If what both parties are saying is true, then either your bike has been taken for a joy ride illegally, or someone is using a fake plate number. Either way, I see the need to make a police report to cover yourself.

I think you could ask LTA if you can look at the photo if they have such option. But I think you have to pay for it. If it show your bike there, then it could mean someone steal it for a joy ride and put it back before you come back. If it another bike with your number plate, you could lodge a police report.

Could be a case of joy ride or stolen bike with ur no. plate.. So is ur bike at the same parking slot or??

Just got a call from LTA,saying that they will

look into this case.Maybe is the emforcement office mistake.

And ask me not to make any payment

and police report.Cos this morning I call

them,say I"ll make police report tonite.

Finally when tp acknowledge tat is a mistake then can laugh it off.

this is a story of mine recently

 

but it is my own fault i admit hehhe

 

i have two bikes. basicly if i were to apply season parking i would have park my bike at a multi story carpark about a road and a blk away.

 

so i decide to park at a passageway. which is block by a steel handle. illigal lar

 

juz recently i received a summon letter in the mailbox. i was shocked as i did not received a ticket on my bike.

 

if it was juz a bike then i can assume wind blow but two bike is juz plain coincidence.

 

some more the saman is $8 which state parking in a lot without parking coupon

 

so end of the day i still pay lar.

 

now days the saman ppl very clever ar. they know i cannot complain as that would juz put me in a deeper ****.

 

again i know it my own fault here.

I think if u ve not, can just make police report first. It is just a precaution. Get a case id so tat if need follow up can ve shorter reaction time.

 

If later case close (other pple fault) can go update police report, close e case, then submit e police report to media to share with everyone this crime risk. ^^

 

 

just to share, i encounter before when i lane split, this car beside suddenly wind down window scream at me accusing me of scratching his car. this was few days back. I noe i not in e wrong so let him take down my number hp and number plate and tell him carry on.

 

Called me to accused again and demand tat i pay up else go insurance. Told him no case and carry on. Went to police station to make report and stated my situation with e remarks tat he is trying to make false accusation.

 

Again he called me and warn again saying give me last chance. Told him i already make police report and e details tat i provided including my opinion tat he is accusing me falsely. Also reverse warn him to stop calling me else it will become a civil harassment case. Told him if he wan just go claim insurance and he doesnt ve a case even if he pay for investigation.

 

basically any legal investigation cost will subsequently be footed by e offender but becoz he was trying to "eat" me so i use e police arm to help me.

 

In ur case it is possible to first make a police report first in anticipation of a possible crime in progress similar to my case though e scenario is diff.

Lol. many years ago, e internet, google, knowledge, education is not as established as it is now. Thus it is easier to threaten and bluff pple.

 

So e driver thought i ride bike cheap cheap so easy to eat. ^^
