since we need to dump the gel into the oil, would it be any effect on the oil filter? My concern is clog in the filtration device and ineffectively "clean" the oil. But pretty interested in the product, pretty cost effective as well.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

jytheorem - yes, the dosage is based on engine oil

But the best way is to add one syringe at a time until no more effect can be felt

I had added a little certech gel to my Rebel 450 half a year ago (about 3 ml) just to test its effect

Yesterday while riding from Tampines-Kranji-Tampines on the last leg, I could feel that the bike could not push past 100 kph and the needle would bounce back each time it touches 100 kph

By the time I reach Tampines the engine was so hot it was scalding to the touch (I think this is the best temperature to apply Certech Gel) so I put in a syringe

Just running it for about half a kilometre could hear the engine was much quieter

But revving it on the straight road could feel the eagerness, the lurch following closely behind each twist of the wrist :-)

mild_slevin - I dun think it will clog your filter, it's a gel not really solid

It doesn't really mix with the oil so if you leave your bike inactive for a week or two, you could drain the engine oil and then check the bottom of the catch pan of the used engine oil. If you let it stand for an hour or two, carefully drain off the old engine oil, you should still see any unused Certech Gel (it's pink so it should be rather easy to see). If it clogs up oil filters, it would not have lasted more than 12 years in the US.

PM me please if you would like to find out more

Hi monsta

what exactly is the problem with the 16 year old Version S? Certech only forms a ceramic layer over hot moving metal surfaces so if that helps, then you should try it. I have tried it on my car and 2 bikes...the metal must be hot upon application.

PM me if you want to try

Update on engine oil loss

Contrary to what I thought all along - CerTech Gel can and does help prevent engine oil loss; however, there are 2 main causes of engine oil loss...through the gasket (rubber) and through the engine cylinder walls (and the piston rings - metal)

A customer with heavy engine oil loss recently tried first STP engine stop leak on his engine...the oil loss abated slightly. Before treatment, it used to drop from Max to Min after 3000 kms

So with STP stop leak it slowed down the oil loss to about 1 cm from Min after 3000 kms

And after adding 2 syringes of CerTech Gel, the oil level sank from Max about 1 cm after 3000 kms

The total distance from Max to Min is about 3.5 cm

I think it is important to rule out gasket leak through the use of STP stop leak first although I have only come across only two cases so far.

Got one tube from bro munchong awhile back and only managed to use it recently. It really works! Bike is smoother, starts easier, slightly more power, slightly better fuel consumption too! I would highly recommend this for people who have older vehicles and feel like they can get a lot more from them.

Have not tried Ceratac but the description is very different

Ceratec is an oil additive and its function is mainly anti-friction

CerTech Gels is not an oil additive in that it does not mix with the oil, but uses the oil as a carrier to circulate around

As it travels to different parts of the engine, for example, it may reach very hot spots and there is friction when metal parts contact - the gel forms a ceramic layer on this portion.

Coincidentally, metal contact is the primary cause of wear and tear. That's why CerTech Gels is effective. It forms a ceramic layer at the same places where there is highest wear and tear.

Extra lube seems to be an oil treatment; an anti-friction additive

Doesn't repair wear and tear but it should slow down wear and tear

Sorry for the late reply but I seldom drop by here

CerTech Gels is available and comes in very handy - rising COE prices has seen to that!! More people would like to hang on to their bikes (mostly cars actually) and this is one of the ways to reverse wear and tear.

Bought and tried this http://www.ceramizer.com. Could be my own confirmation bias, but it does smoothen out my ride considerably after my running in for 1000km. Those who tried my phantom also confirmed that mine runs slightly quieter. Total I paid about 75sgd inclusive of shipping. Bundle set for petrol treatment also.
