I cleared my inspection in August 2012. However, some bikers in this forum seem to have trouble from Sept/Oct onwards with new Vicom inspection requirements. This thread is to collate the new requirements LTA now requires and how widespread the new requirements are, so that bikers may be informed and rectify the "problems" before making a trip down for inspection, rather than a double trip.

1. LED signal lights fail. LED cannot be used.

2. Sticker number plate on windshield fail. However, sticker stick on metal plate pass o_O

Number 2 I really :slapforehead: However if other bikers confirm this new requirements, guess I will "rectify" the problems on my bike before going inspection. No point go knowing that sure fail. Then still have to go bike shop and return to re-inspect.

Above "problems" were reputedly observed at Sin Ming insection centre. Bikers please share.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

does that means my small pink bulb on my fino headlight confirm won't pass right?

one more question... my rs125 arrow exhaust does not have a cert, but the previous owner told me that LTA has a "record" of the exhaust, so "confirm pass", is that true? don't need to show cert?

any way to get the cert for my exhaust?

Hey bro, seems like you have cert issue problem too. I think it depends on the inspection center, I went for inspection on Aug this year without the cert for the exhaust [Legal exhaust] but surprisingly passed. Well I think to play safe, I'm also looking for ways to re-cert my exhaust without the purchase receipt and letter from workshop. I even called up LTA but couldnt get the answer I wanted. :sian:

It's at khaki bukit. I used to own a GSX-R with cert exhaust for 4 years. 4 times of inspection, they don't seem to check on the cert too. It's complicated.

I hope someone here in this forum will share whether sticker number plate on windshield will fail or not. I believe that many of you have windshields and most of you will just paste the number plate on the windshield.

If more bikers confirm the validity of this ruling, at least more bikers who are due for inspections will not waste their time any further.

Mine has 2 licence. 1 is the sticker with the numbers and another placed below is the metallic plate. All done by previous owner.just like the recent case of tp not knowing how to put a bicycle properly behind a car because the bike was blocking the licence plate, the tp just summon ,the inspection centre also cannot provide the solution.i then called lta. The supervisor said if only sticker, cannot but in my case 2 licence plate,it all depends on how gung ho his officers are. Huh.????? No fix rule. I told him basically,i have done the correct thing which is put a metallic plate.

Thanks bro, I went to the akrapovic distributor on sat. After they inspected the bike, they said my exhaust is registered in LTA/Vicom record BUT I still need the cert in case they ask (very random) or stop by LTA/TP.

Transfer owner will be $50 but for my case I don't have the cert and purchase receipt will have to pay $200 for duplication. Well at least I get it done phew~ Hope it helps :cheeky:

I remembered that when I was riding S4 Spec 3, my previous owner modded the signal lights and tailboard. I failed inspection because of that. I had to change all these back to stock in order to pass the inspection.
