i oso bought my sp from S1 at ubi abt a yr ago from ah ong. dunno is kanna chop or wad renew plus renew coe is abt 4k plus. ask to redo the paintwork, 1 wks later collect bike from them, found out tt my mud guard was crack at the screw part then wait another 1 wk juz for tt stupid mud guard to be repaint n replaced. after collect my bike, as a newbie didnt realli check everything (my bad). after tt found out tt they did not let the paint work to dry properply n screw all the nuts, nw my fairings the paint work where haf screw nuts all haf some markings. gt afew occaions went there to do some stuffs on my bike, then the mech there do work like 1/2 hearted 1, gt a few times is either never screw my fairing back properly if not is never screw back e nut from my fairing, so careless lucky i gt double check b4 i go. Then when riding uphill, the bike will lose its power my rpm from 6 can straight drop to 4+ abit when i maintain my throttle. went to ask some other bike shops, most of them say the bike need to be serviced. after full servicing the bike, found out from the mechanic tt the valve was block n the bike was full of carbon, nw still can do but can't go more than 160km ( i oso dunno why), then was once wanted to change brake pad, in the end found out tt the screw of the brake pump haf broke haf to spend 80 bucks to repair juz tt screw, from all tis can tell u hw they work. when collecting bike they never even do it properly for u, not even tell u gt thing spoil, lucky is juz my brake pump screw spoil, wad if my brake had other problems tt cause me into accident, they r realli black hearted sia. i tink im consider lucky for my IU, coz lucky it can still work though it dun haf any display light, had 2 plus yr of installment wif them, damm sian. those who wan buy or do their bikes there, pls tink twice man.

Omg, i just went today to get a TZM with a 10 year coe , i was new to this kind of stuff. However, i already paid $100 dollar deposit(my bad, too rush)

And he quote me a machine price of 3.3k. with insurance of $916. He ask me to pay the down payment of $900($800 as i paid $100 for desposit) after he done every stuff like sent to inspection all this and i am good to go.

However i realise the price he is charging me 138dollar for 3year(36month)

$138 x 36month = $4,968 !!

MAchine price is $3,300

he told me transfer fee $150

Interest = no idea..

So $4,968 - $3,450 = $1,518

I have no idea what is the $1,518???

since when are you paying your insurance in cash??

the $900 you paid??

which loosely equates to you full loan your bike..

you might wanna ask how does they derive to $138 per month..

there should be some more fees, because based on your interest, it's a bit hard to believe 1 yr is 15%..

either you lose the $100 and the bike that catches your eye or prepare to pay the $1.5k..

take it as a lesson learnt.. next time bring someone along so that you can have an second opinion, and he can be someone that stop you from making rush decisions..

even when i buy my current bike, i also bring my friend along..

OTR (On The Road) pricing included:

1 - Bike machine (2nd hand bikes DUN HAVE TO PAY GST!)

2 - Insurance

3 - Usually a 6 mths road tax

4 - Transfer Fee

5 - IU unit (For NEW Bikes ONLY)

For your case (A little basic Maths knowledge is required):

$3,300 + $916 + $150 = OTR? (check out for any hidden fees) $4,366

U pay $900 ($100 + $800) for downpayment, left balance $3,466

To calculate the interest rate (for yr case, need to back count):

1] ($/mth * No of months) / Balance = ($138 * 36mths) / $3,466 = 1.433

2] 1.433 - 1 = 0.433 (43.3% interest rate for 3 yrs!!!)

3] 43.3% / 3 yrs = 14.43% interest rate per year?!!!!

I had no idea how u get the $1,518 figure but obviously u're missing yr insurance in the calculations. I got $1,502 as interest, which is ALMOST 50% of yr bike price ($3.3k)

It's all abt FIGURES here, a simple glance & u'll koe if u're been ripped off.

the market interest rate for 2nd hand bikes are between 5-8%, even the HIGHEST reloan rate is under 14% per year.

u decide if yr's a 'GOOD' buy?

It definately a no-no... But however if i go back on monday to calls off the deals..chances of recovery my $100 would be slim?

Fuk this mannnn, a girl just cheated my $200 and went uncontactable last month... nice...hahaa

just like wat biting_point mention:

1) be a carrot & went ahead with the deal

2) give up the $100 & walk away.

i suggest:

1) u ask for a simple breakdown of cost from tat 'Ah Ong' , there're still rooms for neg.

2) if the above fails, try to look for boss.

3) 1 & 2 fails, walk away. (lose $100 or $1,502? u decide)

even you look for the boss, he will dirrect you back to Ah Ong for calculations..

Take it as a lesson learnt..

I got my bike there with no problems.. I paid $1k of deposit for a bike that i had never seen.. they delivered it 2 weeks later with all the things included.. I went down there twice with my friends.. 3 of them in fact..

when you are buying a bike, your mind will be confused.. i got 3 friends with me to give me advice.. and they agreed that mine was the best deal then.. so i took it..

Thank buddy for your advice...Guess it not too late yar

If my decsion was to look elsewhere... you guy got any other workshop/dealer that can be recommand ? Do not want to have the same experience ....

My advise, do yr own homework on the bike u're interested in.

The fourm here can pretty much help u on tat, once u koe the 'MARKET' price u'll koe how to neg yr way out. A little difference of pricing is expected.

If i were you, i would scrutinize the calculations. If something is wrong and it cannot be sloved, run away asap. Just lose that 100 bucks. Its not worth it.

Anyway, if a girl cheated your $200, shows that you are easily carrotable. :cheeky:

bring a4 paper + your own calculator prior to dealing with bikeshops and calculate everything in detail :D

also bring your friends along , preferably someone who is riding the bike u intend to buy so he would know the condition of the bike.

lastly don't rush in dealing and dont show you are too keen on a specific model + survey multiple shops

i almost bought a bike from S1 too until they added all those paperwork fee, admin fee and agreement fees crap. at first calculate and say cheap and when i wanted to finalize the deal they added the "extra" charges and charged GST for the bike which like what bro LollyPoP said, 2nd hand bike no need to pay gst. then once i know i going to get carrot i just stood up and said that i do not have enough money for deposit and the guy even said "nevermind put your ic and reserve the bike first". i just said no and left and later found out that their interest is a whopping 7%.
