I think someone posted this before. I also vtec-3 and if i am not wrong, from 5bars, it will go down to 4bars quite quickly. From 4bars to 3bars ok ok. From 3bars to 2bars is the longest. And from 2bars to 1bar, it's the same as 3bars to 2bars. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Hope u understand my explanation cus it sucks! Haha...

Haha.. Get what you mean. I noticed that too. Just now the bar dancing then go back to 1 bar then dancing again and back to 1 bar. Since I am still not sure the average mileage, I went to pump. Only can pump in 13.5 litres. Since S4 supposed to have 18 litres, I still have 4.5 litres left. From what I know reserve when 3 litres below onwards right?

My mileage average of 19km/l. Is that considered low? I already serviced carb, change to fully synthetic EO, spark plug all change and greased the chain. Rarely open vtec. Change gear at 4-5k rpm and cruise between 5-6k rpm. I just got the bike from my friend. He said it used to be 23km/l to 24km/l. I think I will try to not use vtec see if got any difference.

i think the bar is not really accurate as in each bar = ? liters , as long it left 1 bar or running i will go pump :cheeky:

and i do notice that when i pump full its still 5bars , untill i pull the bike straight than it till become full bar , so i guess the sensor is somewhere that u need to straighten yr bike to hit it ^^

as for FC i guess i have mention , when i travel 50km/day i can hit 19km/l , if i travel 10km/day i can only hit 15km/l ~ so i guess something to do with petrol evaporate ? ^^

when you travel 50 km a day means you cruise on the highway more, thats why FC is better.

i believe when you travel only 10km a day, you are doing more riding in start stop traffic, so FC suffers accordingly.

When touring, its usually the rider that give way first before the bike itself.

got box got tour.

I think actually you have a point there. I travel 10km everyday. So maybe thats It explains why my FC like that.

But like i said, cant be bothered anymore. I drive more than i ride anyways. 

at the traffic light, I notice many ppl have a habit of throttle follow by biting point... maybe this contributed to high fc... I always biting point then throttle... same for 2nd gear where there will be a uncomfortable pull back but hey... I wanted every ounce of petrol goes into pumping the piston as much as possible...

Haha, that's what i do too.. save petrol.. My pillion sometimes complain that the bike is jerking at gear 1/2 but cos now petrol too high, no choice..

Ya bro. Agree wid u. Riding on highways have a constant speed compared to normal road traffic conditions.

Can notice the diff literally..!

Just went to pump again yesterday. Never open vtec, gradual pickup can only get 20km/l. At 260km meter start to dance and go back to 1 a few times. When hit 280km it starts to dance constantly and when pump in can fit in about 14.4 litres. Ride like just pass 2B slow and steady but still not much of a difference...

Now I am going to try different tyre pressure. Previously was 290/290 now going 250/270 see any difference. I read someone here tried the liquimoly thing to clear valve. Will that help? Also saw this rewitec coating thing some pages back.

Haven't change air filter. I grease my chain once every week. The chain quite noisy according to my friend who ride beside me. And btw I just notice this tick tick sound near the engine while idling or revving. Not sure if there is supposed to be that sound. Can hear it when listen closely. It follows the engine sound together. If I rev the sound will be faster too. Not sure if it's a cause for worry.

I just want to try and hit around 22-24km++/l but frankly like want to give up on the FC

Yup I decided to just ride and monitor. Do what is necessary when needed. As long it's not 10km/l I think it's fine. What's more important the bike is smooth and problem free. Listen to some music and enjoy the ride

:thumb: no point trying to get good FC here with our start stop traffic and congested highway.

Try to kick the habit of listening to music while riding... not about safety wise but your ear are under stress if u do so... The problem came when u increases speed and the wind noise seems louder. U tends to increase the volume of the music... If you find the volume uncomfortable while stopping at the traffic light then it is really too loud thru out the whole journey. Invest in a good helmet which cut off wind noise so u could listen to music at safer volume level... but if I'm not wrong, TP stop u with ur earpiece on also will kena... Love ur ear... it is irreplaceable...

change gear at 4k-5k rpm. when u slow down, don't needa necessarily down gear, just use yr brake. it will really help. i used to get 19km/l. after i ride like this.. i'm getting 23km/l. hope it helps. ;D

Serious will kena from TP? I thought no issue one. Maybe get those kind of helmets inside got speaker haha.. Sometimes ride for long distance quite boring if no music. May end up daydream which can be dangerous.

Ok bro will give it a try cos I love to use engine brake a lot. Like the sound and feel :p

If there are extra petrol feed into the engine while engine braking then it shd not have the braking effect liao mah... becos if u close throttle there are not enough petrol to maintain the speed thus there is a braking effect... engine braking habit save life bro...

Bro, what would be a good helmet which cut off wind noise?

Thanks!

And the songless through him burst into melody.
