Take a nice break? It’s a good time to reflect and treasure what you have 😆😆. You’ll emerge a stronger person!!! But for now… be patient hehe.

agreed.. we dun usually look at speed until we see that "speed camera ahead".. or the cars suddenly slow down.. usually all just pace the cars infront or just ride comfortably at our speed.

😆😂😂 yes yes!!! Speed camera ahead and every suddenly drive like a snail… Like 10kmh below… actually more dangerous …

Don't say that; you will be back on your feet before you know it. Once the doctor gives the "go ahead", try to walk and physio your way back to your normal self please!

Lesson 1.03.

Today was lesson 1.03 and it was learning to coast on first gear to start and then stop in a short distance, where one has to raise to a riding position. Next 2 similar "take offs" with the left leg sticking out to stop. As easy as that sounded. It wasn't that easy for yours truly... tend to make the bike grabby as used too much of the front brake which can throw off the balance of the bike, or it doesn't seem like a smooth stop.
Getting the left leg as to be ready to "road rest" cruising slightly just above the ground was more difficult that it seemed, at least for the first time, but with some practice, it felt better.

Practice this for a bit and was told to circle the outer ring (like to coin it the "mini city" where it is a track that goes round and round. The aim as to change gears from 1-5 and at every turn, to change down the gears, usually third and ride through the turn in a constant speed.

Now, it was a really good experience as while this seems "easy" and just to go on, the CBR190's vibrations course through the hands and the arms, and while 50km/h sign was out there to be experienced, managed to get to 5 gear, when the road was clear. As the traffic built up with some learner cars and other bikes from other lessons, it was a good experience to be situational aware of other road users albeit in a controlled environment.

During the course of the rounds, up-shifting inadvertently to "N" (2 times during the whole training) meant that have to be acutely aware of engaging the gears when shifting up. Downshifts weren't a problem and it was a good session.

By the end of the session; was really tired as had a long night before and slept at 3:30am and woke up at 9am.. The weather was nice though but was dehydrated during the lesson (own fault) and wasn't in top form. It was still a good session overall as the instructor pointed out tips on what to watch out for during the assessment.

At the end of the lesson; the students were told to return the gear and told to sign the paper; and were told for the next lessons going forward; elbow guards were no longer needed :) .

Will update on the next stage and the fingers, wrist and arms are numb* from the ride.  Really tired but happy. No more long nights before any rides going forward. Will update again.

*have new found respect for riders now, from those who commute, delivery professionals (food and courier) and anyone who rides a bike daily. Handling a bike requires more than attention; it requires coordination, modulation and alertness.

Assuming the docs are using this for the recovery.... if I think they did this; *I am not a medical professional nor profess to be one..

The gastrocnemius muscular flap has already proven its efficiency for soft tissue coverage in cases of knee joint exposure. Gastrocnemius flaps can be easily harvested with a planned skin paddle designed over the chosen muscle. This simple technique combines the advantages of muscular and fasciocutaneous flaps for knee joint area coverage.

It’s just the beginning! Lesson 2 series will be coming and will be learning more of the needed requisites to be a more competent rider..  so much to learn and to correct learner mistakes..

I’m sure you will clear it really soon! Ask your HB to go for the lessons together where possible so that you can observe each other. That would be interesting. :)

Yes, like the circuit riding, was very fun 🤗; can really feel the wind. Looking forward to get more riding time. Grateful to learn in a safe environment. Every time heading back onto the roads on the way back home. I learn to appreciate what the instructors teach us..

hb doesn't have as many pockets of time as I do. In fact, he'll be busy with work until end Sept. So for now, he can at most do once a week. Anyway, I generally need more time to get used to "physical" stuff, he's generally more coordinated. 😂 next class we'll still be doing the same thing together.

Try to take it easy and only physio when the doctor say so…

Don’t rest weight on the leg… surgeons have to be skilled to do that procedure.

On the elbow guards; apparently that’s what the instructor said, but said, “can still wear if you want”. Might wear a mesh jacket; provided I get round to going RS. Still did not go as on Saturday, schedule was full and then had a long night which ended early in the morning. So Sunday, little time to go check out gear.

Look forward to lessons and try to learn as much as possible… :)

It’s good to see you back online and wish you a full recovery! In the mean time; you can virtually guide us newbie riders … :) Next time, can have tea with all the riders here!

License doesn’t mean *experience and capable; it means just bare minimum to ride on the road.  Yes, will always ride carefully, circuit or road, as long it is not a track environment and many moving parts. Have to be alert and start slowly..

Didn't go last weekend, but will have to go this weekend and have a look. Mesh jackets aren't cheap and have to choose one that will serve to protect... it looks hot though.. but I guess it's like a helmet.. hot, but I'd be sure to wear one! :)

The theory instructor keeps saying that mesh jacket is cooling! Try and let us know 😅

If I can find a reasonable one… but need one that is CE rated.. what do the experienced riders think? CE rated or not?
