Thanks for your input, indeed, the power of the V4 last time persuaded me to choose the VFR over the Fazer 6. I am just curious whether the 1000cc will be any better or similar. Last month did some touring in Aussie and they gave me a brand new BMW 1200rt as the bike I booked was in repair; the pulling power from the 1200 boxer was disappointing to say the least :-( Maybe I just have to face the facts that after riding a V4, there is no engine that can compare in terms of the punch it packs

I understand the torque, the punch a V4-engine packs, cos I have experienced it personally for myself too. :thumb:

hi fellas, i been reading abit on this thread, and just contemplating on getting my dream bike fazer 600,i have never own a 2A or 2 bike before so i would like to ask you guys big bikers what is the things to look for when owning a class 2 machine?

in terms of maintenance and finance how big of a gap will it be compared to a 2b bike and how do u guys cope?

my mind is simply almost made up on getting my dream bike fazer 600 although a 2nd hand one coz its out of production but i simply am hanging on the fence of upgrading and fulfilling my dream of touring with the fazer 600, hope honest bros can share some stories about how u upgraded and how big of a difference it is?

im an owner of a fully paid 2b bike who is not really sure on how much big a difference it will be in terms of finances and riding experience.

A few simple changes from 2b to class 2:

- higher fuel consumption (typically but of course if u whack ur 2b bike, u will also see in your fuel usage)

- heavier bike means more difficult to handle in slow moving or standstill situations, likewise, more stable when riding at speed ( I felt my 2b bike previously, easily to start sliding especially in wet conditions whereas heavier bike not so easy and to a certain point controllable)

- insurance and stuff depends on the bike (sports versus tour) and your age and experience but likely to go up

I only test ride the fazer 600 and thought it is very stable and easy to ride, predictable and steady but don't expect fireworks

my 2 cents

The FZ6S2 is a good bike if kept well maintained. Common issues with pre-loved CLS2 bikes are electrical failures and engine maintenance not done. e.g. valve clearance, tensioners etc. This really depends on a the mileage and how the previous owner took care of it. If you do not have a lot of experience with CL2 bikes, I strongly suggest you bring someone who is. And please don't believe the salesman.

Finance and maintenance will be a big gap frm 2B. Common sense will tell you that. From 1L of EO you'll need 3L, frm one spark plug you'll need four and so on. Expect everything to more or less double or sometimes triple. Though, you don't have to change EO as often as a 2B. How you cope is entirely up to you based on your finances. Keep in mind besides monthly installments, you'll spend more on fuel, maintenance and annual stuff like insurance, rd tax etc.

Personally, I went frm 125cc to 400cc to 600cc to 1000cc to 1300cc. If you going from 125cc(or watever) to 600cc I can say it will be exciting! Just don't be too throttle happy and take it easy for the 1st month or so. Riding style, braking, cornering will be totally different.

The guys here are very experienced and will usually be happy to help. Just meet up with them when you have time and you ask more questions. And also check out their wicked mods! LOL..but that's for a later stage.

G'luck with your decision. A CLS2 bike is a big investment so do think carefully and take your time about it.

Been using Z8 for slightly over a year and I must say it has excellent grip in both wet n dry conditions. The latest version is 2CT and should perform even better.

Pr3 is not a bad choice too IMO.

Hi guys, I just wanted to check something about riding Fazer. Previously I ride VFR back in Europe and now shifted to Singapore and looking to buy local bike and of course looking at VFR again but I also quite like the looks of the Fazer. My concern is I may not like the power even for 1000cc. Anyone have experience riding VFR versus Fazer 1000?

In the past I try Fazer 600 and compare with VFR750. It was NO comparison but I never ride Fazer 1000 so dont know if it has more power/torque to match similar feeling of the V4 on a VFR.

Look forward to any experiences you all can share

I Used to ride Vtwin VTR SP1 before i trade my fz1s...hmmm compare to inline n vtwin...power is totally different...vtwin is nice n power is sooo nice... raw power.. but that is sportbike n to compare with sport tour is different.
