I am sorry to say this. But I think you may have been "chopped carrot head"...

But I may be wrong, as I am newbie and not 100% sure about the prices of these procedures.

When I did my valve clearance, my trusty mechanic only charges me about S$200 + a bit.

I understand that tensioner and tensioner chain costs around S$80 - S$100+ each.

So the sums somehow doesn't add up right.

But then, like I said, I may be wrong.

Let's wait for the grand master Pichudot to provide his views. :)

Thanks so much, skateboy.

If I am not wrong, the IU "cond0m" can be done at the auntie shop besides LAB, right?

How much is the damage for a synthetic leather "cond0m"? SGD 20? SGD 30?

Think I will have to get my IU checked (and replaced, if it is proven that my current IU is faulty) before I go auntie shop buy the synthetic "rubber"...

the IU pouch can b bought at any shops that do seat covers. just tell them if urs is the old or new IU. n plain one shd b ard 20. got design sure abit ex. u can go vicom do the check for free. only the replacement need to pay if the IU is expired. if u r replacing, u can buy the pouch, then replace that time just install accordingly.

$240 for ballistic vs $320 for lithium. abit ex. $180 for yuasa, i can buy 2 liao.

Recently I went to top overhaul my FZ1 cost me 1500, replacing auto tensioner, tensioner chain , valve clearance , throttle body syn and balancing. So expensive. Just to share with all about the cost

where u did ur servicing? too ex liao... i did mine at tachyon, $250 valve clearance, $80 gasket replacement, $100 servicing throttle body n sync, additional replacement $125 for cam chain and $125 tensioner previously, $100 for 4 x injector servicing at racewerks. everything add up oso not so ex. but mayb ur got change shims.

hope the servicing was a job well done n u no need to worry about it when u ride.....

it's up to each individual.. :)

one thing to note, the voltage & amps is something that you can't find it that good for normal batteries.. not to say its dimension/weight.. :)

The mechanic change the piston ring too. 4x60=240.

Btw do I have to run in my bike?

piston ring need to run in.....

because new piston rings will always have additional few mm when manufactured. dont worry the few additional mm will sit in nicely in the block head after time (maybe 2000km-3000km, got to check with mechanic). just keep it around 90-100km/h (play safe, 110km/h max no more) will do. and most importantly do not redline. Not even stationary.

Hi, skateboy,

Thanks so much for sharing selflessly.

So do you mean to say I have to get the pouch ready first, before I go to VICOM to tell them that I need to replace my IU (in the event that my IU is really faulty after they have checked it)?

So meaning to say, I have to drop by VICOM twice?

First, to check if IU is faulty. Second time to go with the "rubber" and put it over the new slim IU BEFROE the VICOM mechanic fix my new IU onto my IU bracket?

Or is the "latex" simply a "wear over the IU"?

Sorry for my many questions, newbie lah (in wearing "latex" for IU). :cheeky:

my advice do not go for IU inspection with any IU cover, sticker etc. they will probably fault it and say it caused your IU to be unable to detect when you ride pass ERP gantry. So, simply go vicom have your IU checked, pass already then go buy your cover etc.
