Great pics redress. Keep those coming in

Oh Yeah!!

More ta cum...

A kiss hurts more than a bit,

If received from a soul forbidden,

Its marks reminder burns,

When left on a dark heart hidden

A bite penetrates the skin,

But to receive from a lover is bliss,

As a bite can only tickle,

When compared with a deadly kiss

2007 MALAYSIAN SUPER SERIES ROUND 1

Sepang International Circuit, Kuala Lumpur

19th-20th May

The year 2007 marks the Singapore Biker’s biggest endeavor yet, into the much admired Malaysian Super Series (MSS), otherwise known as the “Malaysian GP”.

With a total of 12 official entrants into its various classes, this goes down as one of the biggest efforts yet in recent times, from the island city of Singapore.

Milton Poh, a veteran of the MSS and the reason behind a global carbon fibre shortage, recalls:

“I wonder where all these fella’s came from…like Doctor Dol & Hartholomew? What kind of names are those? Are they from Sesame Street? I bet these were the buggers that were terrorizing pedestrians at various filter lanes across Singapore! I’m glad these 2 monkeys have grown some brains and come over to a national stage… I mean like, my brother and I have been here for years! Where have you guys been!?”

Doctor Dol & Hartholomew declined to comment of course, but added that they take no responsibility for the many skirts they have blown up, while whizzing past along busy city streets.

Your true blue “KIASU” Singapore riders are:

Alan Cheong Suzuki GSXR1000 G-Max Leo Vince SuperBike Open

Alvin “Slow SP” Yamaha YZF-R6 Privateer SuperSports Novice

Amba “Snakeman” Yamaha YZF-R6 Speedway Motors SuperSports Open

Charn “5thRider” Yamaha YZF-R1 BikeLab Traxxion Dynamics SuperBike Open

Deraj “Fat Di” Yamaha YZF-R6 JR Metzeler SuperSports Open

Hart “Hartholomew” Yamaha YZF R1 Bike Tech 21 SuperBike Novice

Martin Poh Honda CBR1000RR Privateer SuperBike Open

Milton Poh Suzuki GSXR1000 Privateer SuperBike Open

Safarin “Rein Jahat” Yamaha YZF-R6 Privateer SuperSports Novice

Shaiful “Doctor Dol” Yamaha YZF-R1 G-Max Leo Vince SuperBike Novice

Thamo Yamaha YZF-R6 BikeLab Traxxion Dynamics SuperSports Novice

Wayne “WayneLucifer” Yamaha YZF-R6 Privateer SuperSports Novice

Team Singapore Highlights:

Round 1 of the 2007 MSS officially started on the 19th of May 2007, with registration opening at 9 am at the SIC (Sepang International Circuit).

Although there was a long queue for the event registration, in the air conditioned 2nd floor office, the event was well run with marshals, security, ample parking, immaculately clean paddocks, and a sensible time schedule. All in all, it was very impressive to all the MSS virgins.

After registration and scrutineering was completed, the briefing commenced at about 1230 in the aptly named “Driver’s Briefing Hall”.

Basic race rules were revised and all questions answered, while we sat in air conditioned comfort in a space roughly a third the size of a football field. I was impressed already.

With the flanks of the hall built with glass, some were bound to get distracted by the view of the track.

Destructive Deraj: “…I tell you, trust me, brake when you see God, drop all the gears like a bad cold and slam the bike down like an angry pimp…”

About half an hour passed, when the briefing finally ended. Although some were not totally satisfied and still a bit mystified with the various flags used in the race – “Eh Deraj, they never told us what the yellow flag looks like!? What the f@(k?!”.

Deraj muttered: “Oh Lord, I am surrounded by fools…”

And so the Saturday progressed with the threat of rain ensuing from early on the afternoon. Dark clouds were circling the circuit like vultures.

“Wah Lan Eh! I told that “Rein” not to come ah! You see lah now…”

I of course, looked on the bright side and promised everyone that it was a passing cloud, managing to convince many a person that it would not rain, as God would pity the many racers that only had 20 miserable minutes of free practice and another 20 minutes of qualifying to learn the North Track.

Predictably, I was wrong as usual.

“Rein” was seen snickering in glee.

And so went the Supersport riders on their free practice, getting pelted by the rain. It was definitely not the best of conditions and it was scary just hearing the engines of Amba & Demolition Deraj bounce of the rev limiters, when they spun the rears on full throttle down the straights.

After 20 minutes, Wayne returned looking like he was NOT having the ride of his life, muttering: “I saw my life flash infront of me…twice!!”

Amba returned looking pale, but insisted that he was not scared out of his skin but just “feeling cold”. He quickly changed the subject by describing how he was controlling a 100-foot, controlled, 2 wheel slide into Turn 5, while setting his shift light simultaneously. He insisted that he was at home in the wet conditions as he is the “Snakeman”, and likes to "slither" around all the time.

Yeah right.

Too be continued…

Cheers,
