I think it will be nice for the Yamama FJR riders when the plate number has moved on to FJR.

Then one can bid for the plate number FJR 1300 x.

Nice! But by the time FJR released, there might not be anymore FJR1300 in production haha.

IF FBJ really comes out, then we must ask our LTA is it really immaturity on their part not to use FBI or even cars SEX. or is it because they dont want to cause unnecessary accident.

what is their true rational not having these plates up. then why they allow SGH? of course when ever i ride and see this plate I will look out the driver in case it was my former boss

How you know there will not be an FBI? I read only cannot use vowels in the middle as it can make words?

I supposed 1 and I might not be readily distinguishable at a glance.

Imagine uncle long time ago buy bike with license plarte FB1697Z, and FBI697 comes along and starts racking up reckless riding, kena complain by member of public with blur car cam.

FJR1300 still in production.

:offtopic: From what I've seen in the Yamaha showrooms in Australia, the new models have hydraulic clutch instead of cable clutch.

Hmm.... looks like FJR riders and wannabes are now getting ready to bid

Back to topic of thread.

Since there will be no vowels in the plate alphabets, so FBI will be skipped and go straight to FBJ.

But with so many different "definitions" of FBJ, may LTA will skip it and go to FBK instead? lolz...

For 2013[8] the FJR1300 received a substantial number of updates, becoming the 'Gen-III' version. Bodywork is all new on the front half of the bike for better airflow and engine heat management, and a new faster-acting windshield mechanism was introduced. Front turn signal/position lights are now LEDs and there are LED accent lights around the headlights, and there is now one horn instead of two on prior years.

Transmission[edit]

The FJR1300 uses a five-speed manual gearbox with close ratio gears. Final drive is via shaft, encased within the swingarm, which has monoshock suspension with remote quick-set two position adjustable pre-load.

The FJR1300AE/AS model features an electronic clutch, which Yamaha calls YCC-S. There is no clutch lever on this model. Instead, the YCC-S system allows the rider to shift using a set of manually operated push buttons on the left handlebar or via the standard gear shift lever. The electronic clutch is controlled by an internal computer, allowing gear shifts to complete in approximately 0.2 seconds. The gearbox pattern is also unconventional in that neutral is at the bottom end of the range, otherwise the gearbox is identical to the A model. The ECU automatically controls the electronic clutch and ignition timing to ensure smooth gear shifting and will actuate the clutch at standstill. Stalling the engine is not normally possible.
