After 1 month+ of riding, clock > 5.5k km le.

Here are the Wear and Tear Replacements so far:

- Front tyre, Michellin Macadam 100X

- RK X-ring chain

- Front and rear sprocket (front dunno wat, rear is Afam)

- SBS front brake pads, FIZ (forgot the whole name) rear brake pads

- Rear tyre, Michellin Pilot Sport

- Serviced the K&N filter (didn't know it was K&N till they open )

My front and rear tyres very diff, becos i change the front first, then 1 month later then change rear tyre. Both doing very well (though front is touring tyre and rear is for sport riding).

Braking power improve quite a lot after the front tire change, i dun really like engine braking so most of the time use front brakes, thus my statement.

After changing the rear tire, now it's more flickable. The grip was very good and i was tempted to go lower and lower (speed factor not there though, just bring the bike down nia). Some wax still there but never slipped once. Haven tried the right side though. improved my confidence quite a lot.

- Front tyre, Michellin Macadam 100X $150

- RK X-ring chain

- Front and rear sprocket (front dunno wat, rear is Afam) $330 (with chain)

- SBS front brake pads, FIZ (forgot the whole name) rear brake pads $30 (rear foc)

- Rear tyre, Michellin Pilot Sport $250

- Serviced the K&N filter (didn't know it was K&N till they open ) $25

a bit ex, but the guys know wat they r doing. the new headlight assembly was fit on foc. Still waiting for my tinted double bubble. Probably spraying my bike this month, still choosing between black and yellow. But after looking through some pics at the shop, i might be spraying multiple colors.. so depends.. about 400 - 450 for all the fairings + mirrors + the single seater.

Personally I'd go for some simple graphics, coz so far all SVs are plain coloured, except for Alberts.

what about this:

theres already one 650 with this colour scheme though

just change my steering cone and front wheel bearing ...

realise the parts used on sv is very different from others and most costly.

yeah took out my knn breather, manage to find the air tube from a scrapped gsx to connect it back to to the airbox, hope i dun have the engine oil vapourising problem anymore.

then still got a problem with my front disc brake floating pin, its loose, got to find some free time to do it liao.

Its better to have lived and lost than to never live at all. Live it, the way you want it.

my friend bought a FS plate SV650 about 2 years ago at $5k and she sold for $4k a year later. She mentioned that it took her 6 months to sell the bike off. I wonder why the demand for Suzuki bikes aren't high....

Is your friend joulin?

Firstly, Singaporeans in general do not like Suzuki.

Secondly, Singaporeans in general do not understand V-twins, there aren't enough around to talk abt.

Thirdly, most SV were first owned by Expats, who let go of their SV cheaply when they need to leave.

But when you do find someone looking out for one, you can be sure he's looking around hard. I once had someone bugging me to sell my SV to him.

thought gixxers are quite popular.

anyway, s'poreans have this mentality:

SV650 70bhp vs. generic inline 4 600cc sportsbike 100bhp

SV650 220km/h vs generic inline 4 600cc sportsbike 260km/h

Therefore, SV650 lousy bike, 600cc sportsbike good.

generally, ppl want the most horsepower/cc that they can get.

Higher top speed per cc, even better!

So to most ppl, this is why the SV is not a desirable bike. Which we all know is missing the point.

but funny thing is, harley sportster 1200cc 50+bhp, no problem! Still cool! :sian:

Aye, totally agreed man.

What we're talking about usable power for the real world.

If you ridden a SV in Singapore road conditions, you'll know what we mean.

The power and touque comes early, strong but friendly, even for novice riders.

But in the hands of a good rider, such as Denden, it puts up a good fight even for big litre bikes.

Unless you are getting a bike for blasting up NSHW or track use.

The SV is a bike for everyday. A real all rounder.

as long as u are in the powerband of sv, u feel the power is endless.

though i have a hard time chasing denden at speed more than 140 but i feel its more than enough for a 400cc.

The powerband is broad, but not endless lah. Redline is at 10.5K, very easy hit.

After 9k rpm, no powerliao... But its not a kind of rpm I'll be in if I'm in a corner.

Denden's SV is kinda of different, I suspect it has been fitted with dynojet and its well tuned. Didn't expect that the difference could be this significant.

But in the end, it balls down to the rider. Hey, my 650 can't keep up with you on the mersing ride. I tried very hard already.
