It's gotta be legal.

What are my options?

I have a 1997 M400.

:help:

What's a slip-on? What is it used for & why slip-on? What do pple mean when they say change the "FULL" exhaust?

thanks

The mind is like a parachute; it only works when open.

rien d'autre que le max.

Slipons means just the end cans. A full system will involve changing the headers too.

Don't bother, because the headers for the Monster 400/900 are very efficient already.

1) Around 33hp I think.

2) Air cooled 90degree V-twin

3) 24-27km/litre

4) Yes, you can buy brand new monsters from the showroom.

5) The latest model of M400s are Fuel injected. Solves afew of problems with the carbs.

6) Have fun with your bike first before thinking of upgrading! :D

wow only 33hp? s4 n d gsr400 has 53hp.

hmm dat mean speed wise slower den dese 2 bikes right.

but in d other is d pick up better accleration? cause i knw s4 accleration quite slow

i mean i love d monster looks wise... but i wld love d monster to have monster power too knw wat i mean.. so comments guys...

FI models pull 44 bhp. Average fast riding gives 20km/Litre. There are no more monster 400cc on sale at minerva, all 10 pieces that came in for the 2006 models have been sold. You would have to search for 2nd hand ones. The experience a monster gives u when riding can never be compared with a s4. Its rough and tough. It pulls through corners very well at high speed. HOpe it helps :)

oh yes and the monster 400c models now can be bored to 800cc. However the bore kit would set u back at least 5k.

You don't buy a Harley Superglide and expect it to accelerate like a Goldwing, the same way you don't buy a Ducati Monster and expect it to accelerate like a *insert japanese streetbike of similar capacity here*

The M400 is a good bike for those with 2A licence. If you want monster performance from your monster, then when the time comes, by all means upgrade to the S4RS or the 'budget' S4R Testastretta. The 'detuned' 999 engine has enough power to get you into serious trouble even in legal speeds.

hi all, i'm currently looking for a monster400.. seems that it is quite hard to find.. haha.. anyway i got a qn..

if the m400 is bored to 600, will the rov or tp be able to detect just from e sound, etc..?

aniwae wat advantages besides being faster n e disadvantages of big-boring it to 600cc..?.. like any ill-effects on e bike..?

Good day to you guys!

Any idea how much does the seat cowl and the rear hugger cost?

Another thing, when buying bikes from shops, do they do a full servicing before handing over the bike to us?

Thanx in advance!
