Hi Guys,

Back from Macau tomorrow.. Dead tired. For those among you who drive, Ive bought a few sets of mp3/mp4 transmitters for car cigarette lighter sockets. 1GB memory. It sends a signal to your FM car radio and you can play your MP3 songs directly. Should have one or two sets left after passing to office staff. Cheap cos bought in bulk. SGD 30 only. Let me know if anyone wants. Cya at this weekend's meet...

1 for me pls!!!

Well, since the meetup is schedule to Sat.

The one whom reach earlier gets it prize.

This should be fair deal.

So z3r0k3wL and I gotta beat some lights and reach there to claim the prize.

Anyway, I ain't sure if I able able to steal some time this Sat.

(psstt.. that's a trick to win my car mp3)

Cheers!

any idea wats the carb size of the monster900?

I might be wrong, but I think I read somewhere on the us monster forum, that the 900s come with 41. I think. If I am wrong, then I believe the correct answer is that they recommend 900 to use a 41.......or something like that lah.....I know somewhere there is a 41......:giddy:

Sorry!!!!

hi guys,

Just a quick review of RaceWerks

They are competent and generally know what they are doing. BUT they are still relatively inexperienced, this became evident when my bike had an electrical fault after the servicing which took them 10 hours plus of labour to troubleshoot and fix. I think Mike would have taken about 20 mins to fix it. Having said that, they had an excellent attitude throughout, worked hard, and eventually fixed the problem. Overall, I would recommend them. The actual mechanical servicing work they did (timing belt, valve clearance, carb cleaning and tuning, oil change etc) was faultless, done relatively quickly at a very good price, and I had no issues with them.

technicolourhighway> Asked them about leaky forks on a monster and they told me they would be able to fix it no problem

On another note:

Anyone here use Keihin FCR carbs? Specifically the 41 FCR. Riding the 900 for a while now, I believe the engine is excellent, but my gut feel tells me the engine just can't 'breathe' properly. Probably due to the design of the airbox and the induction manifolds, not to mention the mikuni carbs, but thats just a hunch. before going the full piston upgrade route i would prefer to maximise performance out of the current engine. My exhaust is already cored out with a straight thru silencer so that part's covered, and it did improve things a little but now its time to work on induction, and the best route seems to be a to go with bigger and better carbs along with K & N pod filters (Raceworks told me they can do the pod filters for about 150 bucks total which is a very good price IMO). People on DML rave about them but those carbs are 800 bucks USD which is no bloody small sum man, and i would like to hear opinions of people using them in our climate. My biggest issue is with the fact the keihins don't come with a choke. This bugs me because I love my choke and use it every morning to get the bike warmed up without having it repeatedly die off until it warms enough to hold it's idle. I almost can't imagine life on a carbed bike without a choke. Unless the carb swap to the keihins suddenly make the bike magically able to start cold without a problem. Any opinions guys?

hii sorry to ask such question, can i know the normal engine idling range of m400 ?? mine was between 500-1200 roughly when i first got my monster, after i went for servicing, no change in idling. but after a long ride from yishun to tampines, my idling was at 2k rpm , it only went down to 1k+ rpm bout 20secs later. Is it normal ?? sorry to ask such noob question ..

Hi Noob,

Idling should be sitting around 1K or slightly over. It will vary if you are using an aftermarket filter, or have changed your exhaust system, in which case you could get the timing adjusted. Good luck.

My idling is about 0830 to 1800, oops, that's my working hours!!!! keke

Seriously, idling is an indication of the state of tune of a bike.

Cheers
