Hi all , I am looking to buy a used m400. What are the things I should look out for when considering this Italian beauty ? Any shops that I can go to ? Anyone private sale here or is kallang cycle an option to consider ?

You can try the common search areas like the garage sale section here, sg bike mart dot com, or minerva showroom.

Anyways, if there are any meetups in the westside (CCK, YewTee and adjacent estate areas), just drop me a text at 9877 7704.. =)

Generally meetups are quite impromptu..

And can be very frequent...

Yesterday meet, today meet, following day also can meet.

Very much advised to attend whatever is posted here.

For many of us don't log on often..

Rarely are the impromptu meetups posted online...

Hi

If u must have a monster, it's better to start with 696 or 796. The 400 verson is under power and parts are expensive. Unfortunately, there are not many choices for 2A class holder. So up grade to full 2 class first if u really wanna enjoy motorcycling. In the mean time stick to super 4 or other Jap 400s.

hi h@nn, i would like to find out if their pricing is good? their service? loans etc..

1) pricing may have hidden costs like gst, admin fees etc, so ask David to list down the items to know what you're paying for.

2) standard servicing should be fine but for more advanced work go to Kallang cycle, bike harbour, Minerva or raceworks. Your bike will thank you.

3) loan arrangement is pretty standard at 6% for 2nd hand bikes, but rule #1 applies, read fine print before confirm anything.

Hope it helps. David and Lawrence are nice blokes but they are also running a business so talk business when you buy a bike from them, same as any motordiam. Cheers!

hey h@nn,

Does it seriously underpower and more expensive parts as compared to a super 4, wich i tink is m400 rival in this weight class?

U muz be riding an M400 or have rode it before i assume?

Dood, I'm on my fourth ducati, and my 23rd motorcycle. The M400 is a fun bike. It doesnt pretend to be what its not aka vicious street demon. Your sweeping statement on m400s shows an utter lack of understanding on what riding a ducati is about. Sure, the super4s and other jap 400s may be faster, or easier to maintain, but only a ducati is a monster. I am all for new riders with class 2As starting their ducati affair on m400s. I'm sure they would have had as much fun on their bikes as I did and many of us here as well. If you are a purist, and pushing for the 696 or 796, you obviously have not enjoyed the CHARACTER of the older dukes, be it the classics, STs, Stradas, ss, as well as the sexy sport bikes of the 916-999 era. In MY honest opinion, tho the new 696 and 796 are good bikes, are too smooth AND too plasticky for my liking to provide a true DUCATI experience. IF you have ever ridden an m400 and not enjoyed it, you must have got a lemon. Cheers dood.

edit ** referring to zephyrrt's sweeping statement, not yours per se;)

Yes to both. If concerned about power and parts, not to mention fuel consumption, price, etc, you SHOULD ride a super 4. Or other Jap fours. ;)

Would like Ferrari 360 modena vs the new Nissan GTR be a good comparison? Both are good, just have to choose what you want.

When it comes to bikes, I only see red…

I go to all of them. But normally I settle on Mike at Kallang Cycle. You pick your own mech ie which one you can get along best. All of those listed are good at what they do. Matter of choice.

I agree with Hann. The M400 doesnt pretend what it isnt. Despite being underpowered, the bike handles great. Maintenance wise, get a good example and you will save heaps. I started my affair with Ducati starting from the M400... right now, still riding a Ducati.

Somehow, I just love the rubbles between my legs on my balls. The great exhaust notes cannot never be compared with a woman's orgasmic moan. One of a kind.

Go with what your heart tells you. If you are into functional, fuel saver, least maintenance, go JAP.

If you are into claudestine Italian love affairs, GO DUCATI.
