In 2006 the U.S. and World model years synchronized and design significantly changed including trailing arm changes, radiator curving, instrumentation changes, upgraded alternator and significant attention to airflow changes from reported heat issues in previous years. In response to these complaints, Yamaha added several adjustable vents to the FJR1300, allowing the rider to direct air to or away from the body.

The base 2006 FJR1300A model has ABS and is Dark Blue Metallic while the Cerulean Silver colored FJR1300AE model features a semi-automatic transmission. The AE model has YCCS, or Yamaha Chip-Controlled Shift. The rider can either utilize the standard foot shifter without the clutch lever, or shift via a lever on the left bar where a clutch would normally be. The AE model continues in production through 2008.

Hey guys, wanna ask a knoob question especially to the old birds.

at 60+K mileague, wat servicing needs to be done? Or recommended to be done and hw much will it roughly cost.

So far i onli do the basic servicing on my bike (EO, Oil Filter, spark plug, shaft oil, break pads, tyres)

As most of u noe, currently my bike is at workshop due to freak accident in Jan.

Bike shop quote mi 6K for repairs.

i am contemplating whether to spent the 6K on repairs (after dat do those major servicing, road tax/insurance due in July (abt 1K) or juz get a new bike since the total costs incurred mite end up like prolly 8K!

Sell lah Sell lah, you got your KSR anyway. Got one Black KSR going for 3.5K, ~2-3yrs old. Initially tempted, but not much acc I think. Mileage also super low, 4000KM only. Abit hard to believe.

TBS, Throttle Body Sync. Not compulsory. Wont kill ur engine if you dont do. Just slightly better FC and smoother pick up. Not ex. Last time I hands on with Meng Tong he only charge $20 including plug change. Of cuz, plug i buy myself. But HL i think charge $60.

and for those ppl who always asking outting, think they also feel sian since everytime

ask ppl, no ppl will joint....

Can see lot of ppl talk and chit chat here, but you wont see their face since they wont come out for outting... not even once, or some time airplane......

Yeah my trip can only happens if the weather ain't tat bad coz as u know it will be the monsoon season. Have always wanted to see the Loy Krathong but tat will be in Nov rite?

Normally I will advice that dont do solo as you wont know wat will happen, it will be fun if you ride with ur close fren.

Actually I also plan MHS trip again this yr but seem cant this lan wont come true.... due to some commitment...

If you are planning Touch n' Go trip, dont think you need 15 to 17 days, but if you plan to take ur own sweet time and ride around, then 15 - 17 days would be nice...

FJR comes as a whole with panniers. not sure? can check with agent. they r the ones who bring in the bike. those bike shops might pull abit of stunts to earn extra.

thanx for the clarifications, cos I saw at HL website tat the 08 FJR is pictured w/o panniers.

Need to sort wif my finance minister for approval of funds to upgrade my FZ1.
