Juz sign for my fjr. Fbb plate but originally was fz plate. Any flaws of this bike? Use to ride st11 the to 2 sports bike. Now back to sport touring.

ermphh yamaha r1 and r6 has this TPS problem. does fjr has this issue too??

how often u guys change the transmission/shaft oil?

Any of u guys make a switch for the fan? i noe fjr is quite hot compared to st11.

The mileage of my bike is close to 100k. i guess need to do service the engine at least top overhaul.

Clean and synchronize throttle body, timing chain and valve clearance? what else? the transmission shaft wear and tear anything to look out for?

last but not least......slip on for my new ride..... my 2 previous sportsbike on leovince?? prices and recommendation?

But guess the owner after me may have brought her up to Land of Smiles (or maybe even further) during his ownership.

 

Cos when I traded in my FJR, I remembered it was only like 47,### km mileage, definitely less than 50K km.

 

FunkyChicken mentioned that it is close to 100K km now.

 

To FunkyChicken : I think if you want to feel really safe, maybe a top overhaul, which includes valve clearances + tunning, change of timing chain + cam tensioner would be good.

 

I know we do not need to change the cam tensioner every time we change the timing chain.

 

But for my previous FJR and VFR, I changed the cam tensioner at the same time I change my timing chain so that both are new and I can be worry-free.

 

But it is up to each individual's preferences.

Yeah man mr seah, am looking forward to top overhaul the engine as it gonna hit 100k km. was thinking of tachyon motors. any other suggestions?

 

thanks africakali. but i doubt 05 model is the same as 10 model. what i realize there are no gear indicator and there is mph reading. sianz... sprayed the bike to white like my previous st11. so please wave hi to me!! hehehe but over all i actually was aiming for fjr for quite sometime. tot of getting first hand but was way to ex. 2ndhand was around 23k fbe plate machine price.

Hey guys, any of you here were up at Malacca last weekend. Was there with my colleagues and saw about 4 FJRs with 1 GTR.

Hi guys..

I've encountered a strange problem with my bike in this few weeks.. Need suggestions if any of u guys ever experience the same problem.

 

1. While riding, engine suddenly cut and die off.. Electrics still going on strong. Clutch in to Neutral and crank. Engine started as normal, engage 1st gear engine CUT off. Was in 2nd lane, quickly on Hazard light move to the left while FREE-WHEELING).

 

2. Stop by the side. Crank on Neutral, engine started normally. Clutch in,engage 1st gear, engine cut off AGAIN..

 

3. Crank again on Neutral, let engine idling for 1 minute. Engage 1st gear, bike return to normal.. Move off..

 

This already happened 3x but very seldom.. Thought to be batt problem bcos 1 yr never change.. So now already change, so far no problem until it happened again just now. The 3rd time (1st time considered after new batt chage-out)..

Btw if ur wondering. Mine's a 08 model, mileage ard 75k km.

 

Any opinion?.................

I had this problem but managed to isolate it to a faulty iginition wiring.

 

It started off as sudden engine die out during normal cruising once in a while. As the wiring got worse, it'll cut out when i make turns and finally frequently as long as the ignition wiring is not in its "sweet spot". Replce the ignition assy and works fine now.

 

There is another slimmer possibility that it may be due to a burnt ignition switch plate. There was a recall for some 2nd gen bikes and even a bulletin to instruct the dealers how to get the ignition switch assy replaced. Thats how I learn to replace the switch assy.

 

First off, displace the ignition wiring around when your engine is running to see whether the engine dies and work from there. Good luck bro.
