Yup, was riding FJR at that time. Due to a major crash, i overtrade my FJR wif an FZ6.

Sleeping Tourer juz came back frm Hatyai. Sawadeepimai!!!

Yes, I am riding the maroon red GSR400 and my friend the Kawa Kipps...

Of cos I remember you because it was your FJR that first captivated me to aim for this bike... after so many years of waiting... I am finally able to own one. Hehe....

Cheers dude!

Wow... 1.6k? That is very expensive... I have no idea or wat so ever about insurance... but I do know that age group does affect the pricing.... maybe your age is young thus the high price for insurance.

Ask around from more bike shops... different bike shops offers insurance from different insurance companies.... for example, some bike shop only offer insurance for certain insurance company.

FYI, I bought AXA comprehensive(1st party) plan for 1.2k.

Yes, for any second hand bikes... mileage is definitely a factor. All engines have a life span... when it reached a certain mileage... it may need some over haul works due to wear and tear.

age group, work related, NCD ,claim related , bike model - tourer , sports bike , naked bike , scooters etc all diff pricing. so is the cc of the bike.

insurance pricing certainly has gone up , i just bought a 2nd hand 2010 yamaha spark and 3rd party fire n theft cost me a good $400 plus for a 135cc cub.

unbelievable!!

Definitely it is AXA. I didn't know they close down leh... maybe they open up again? hehe...

FYI, I was given three choices from the bike shop... AXA, Alliance or NTUC. After much consideration and advice from the salesman, I chose AXA. I have always been paying NTUC for my past bike insurance, this is the first time I am getting the insurance from AXA.

For such mileage, this bike definitely has been through some long trips or maybe it could be an earlier model of FJR. You got to consider also the year which this model come from. There are some issues for the older models.

Where do you get the bike from? Shop or direct from seller? Get more history about the bike, any accidents, repairs made... etc. It could be that the bike has been through many ownerships...

Ultimately, you got to go down to inspect the bike yourself. Don't just look at the outlook of the bike, try to ask the seller to pillion you for a test ride... feel the bike yourself... see if there are any issues with the engine... etc. If seller not willing... due to petrol cost, just give him $20 for him to pillion you around... it is worth the $20 to test the bike first before making the decision. If he doesn't agree... maybe something is fishy, maybe he is trying to hide something about the bike...etc...

If you really interested to get this bike, you would at least do some research on it. I did mine before I bought this bike... it's all about using google search.

For a start.... you can type "yamaha fjr common problems". Be surprised by how google search can give you answers... :) I suggest you do more research on google for yamaha FJR.

Cheers.

Just ride more and get to know it. Inline 4, quite predictable....

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...
