Dong zi in chinese means Winter is Here.

Its actually means the 1st day of Winter.

The english translation is Winter Solstice.

Organise a team to pray at tai sui temple? Maybe on the 2nd day of CNY, meet at KKFC, go to the temple behind the Geylang Police Station to pray and then go Geylang to ride around and makan?

Its coming around again.

And this time, I prepared powdered black sesame & even red bean paste from Daiso. Got the food colourings, glutinous flour & raw brown sugar. Now waiting to get the ginger and the pandan leaves!!!!!

Even got a couple of tupperwares from Daiso, so I can pack them for you fellas who will dare to defy death by eating my attempts at cooking/making them.

Sure anot...

No takers dare to try and defy death, huh?

Hehehe...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

I've tried & successfully defy death with a piece of metal in each of my four limbs.. So that qualifies me to try your gultinous rice balls?

Pan,

because you say you willing to 'die' trying out my glutinious rice dumplings. I set aside this portion my attempts at making them, for you.

They are now chilling in the fridge.

The small white, green and red ones are plain. The big red is with some red bean paste in them, and the big green is with dried cranberries. The soup is just plain pandan leaves with very little amount of ginger. No sugar added yet.

I wasnt able to start doing the sesame paste ones, because the sun came up and was shining straight into my laundry area where I was doing the dumplings on top of the washing machine. (Thats another story to tell about it, but otherwise, no worries. I dont use powder laundry detergent, so its unlikely I contaiminated the dumplings powder with washing powder :p)

Resurrecting this thread.

In Hong Kong, apparently winter time is a great time to take a lot of tonic soup. Because its said that this is the period where you do not sweat, so all the goodies are gong to stay in your body and be ready for strengthening your body for SPring.
