Anybody seen this new OGK FF-5 helmet in the stores? If you have how much is it?

Hopefully the price of the FF3 or FF4 will drop now that FF5 is released... :sweat:

I see that they've included some sort of transparent plastic clip...maybe to stop unwanted turbulent airflow at the rear?

 

CoolMax as well...Not bad. I've personally have benefited from this technology.

 

But what happened to the side pods? Now the pivot assembly (where the visor snaps onto the helmet) is exposed. :nono:

It looks like there are 5 new features incorporated into the FF-5.

01 - is a new top aero ventilation design

02 - to make the sides more aerodynamic

03 - recessed top air intake for lower aerodynamic drag and noise

04 - refined chin air opening for ease of use with gloved hands

05 - no visor pods to reduce wind noise!

 

I like everything except 02! I think those flimsy plastic pieces will break off easily!

 

But the GP replicas look sweet...

my OGK full faced flip up noise level is worst than my HJC flip up, i dun really hv confidence with OGK noise control.

Maybe I should go to Regina. Wanna see how it looks like first before committing to my 2nd helmet purchase. The first one got injured by a pretty lady swinging her fist towards the direction of the plastic part :weep:

i went to regina yesterday to ask them about the FF5. they told me the helmet will be coming in july. prices should be aroung the $600 n above range

$600 dollars? Isn't that in the range of Shoei's X-11? That's too bad. Think I'll stick with a X-11.

This might be good news...FF4 should have lower prices by then.

 

I need one after my current beloved one bore the brunt on the track, protecting my precious head as I slid and rolled over the gravel.

I can't imagine how my head would look like if this helmet didn't do its job properly. Thumbs up for the FF4 on a very bad day.

Looks like your OGK lid is still in pretty good shape 'cept for the visor pod on the right. OGK has my thumbs up too! :thumb:

 

I was planning to buy [online] a OGK FF4 for US$199 but when I saw the FF5, I thought I should check that out too. Maybe I should reconsider the FF4 if the price will drop.

 

How is the build quality and comfort of a FF4 compared to a Shoei X-11?
