His service was damned fast today despite the long queue at 6.30pm. I just parked my bike (wrong way in the traffic on the street even cos no space liao) and before I knew it I was standing around watching Chong change EO and repair 4 Phantoms at once.

I'm one of the phantom owner ^^ see the queue sian 1/2 le but ah chong let me cut queue haha cos i need to book in later..

anyway it was my first time there and ah chong service was top class!

went there during my night out because my front brake got problem I think is the front brake fluid reservior and also i need to service my phantom.. then ah chong take a quick look at my bike to find out that my tyre and rear brake disc need to change too..

went for dinner for about an hour then ah chong found out more problem zzz..

ah chong told me that i was lucky that my back wheel nv fly off while riding till now -.-; basically the phantom i bought from a 3 letter (G*C) motordiam tou gong jien liao loooo! after ah chong is done with everything he help me test ride and everything is good to go!

at the end of the day i paid $200+ for everything when it suppose to be $60+ for the front brake reservior -.- but overall the service and knowledge is world class! will be there again hah

59th Time at Planet...

18/06/2010

02:00pm

weather: Wet after rain...

mood: Heart Broken...

Went to Planet to get new bulbs, both headlight and meter bulb blew, and at the same time get an oil change.

On the way there, I always have to pass by Hougang.... ....

Ahhh... Hougang a place that brings back many happy childhood memories, and quite recently memories that should have brought joy to my heart.... :(

But today, on the way to Planet, I went a big round to bypass it, just so that I will be able to avoid my ex-girlfriends' place, by going up till Tampines road and back into Defu lane. Even so, passing by Buangkok Drive brought back sad memories of the places we used to go together as a couple.

Yap, 58th time at Planet, 12/05/2010, Bad mood was a :weep: kind of bad mood and it was also because of her...

I guess I will never be happy on the way to Planet again...... :weep:

Over at Planet, the guys were having their break, so I didn't disturb them, and quitely took a bottle of engine oil and placed it onto my seat for engine oil change later on.

Ah Chong asked if I got a CDI of my DR800, and I told him that it's on the way. Today, the mech who serviced my bike was the China Mech, he is getting very good at it by now. Bulb change and engine oil barely took 10 mins altogether.

Then I told him that his advice for girls was right, get the girl to commit first, then give her all the love you have. Should have heeded his advice. Because all I got for my love was a broken heart and a bank account short by over $1,000.... :(

Today Ah Chong was in a good mood, and charged me $15 for oil change + head light and meter light bulb change. When I asked why so cheap, he said today Qing Cai charge one lah, LuGi $1 also never mind.

Then he insisted on pushing my bike out personally, said it's to give him a chance to do customer service. :thumb:

Went to Dr Chong today for an oil change; just left the bike there and went for a coffee. When I collected the bike both the front and rear brakes were almost certainly much more responsive, indicating Chong used his initiative to adjust the freeplay, and left everything else untouched :3

60th time at Planet...

24/06/2010

10am

Went to Planet after my long road trip to Sunway lagoon. Crashed twice in one day, on 21/06/2010, but didn't die... so went Planet to service and repair my bike.

Damage was to the crash bars, footpegs, headlight, tank and signal lights.

So got a new signal light, but it didn't fit, Ah Chong went to drill it to expand the hole. Kinda hard to explain, but that was what he did.

The headlight screen was shattered but the light was still working, but there was no replacement for it, actually there is, but I will have to buy the entire head light for the screen, so I didn't. Then I got the China guy to replace the tires, and brake pads, they were totally balded.

The only gripe I had that day was that the tank got a few extra scratches on top of the ones taken during the crashes after the mech turned the handle bars fully, because of the crash, the bars were slightly lower, but the mech didn't noticed it. Can't really blame him, because the first scratch was something like that too, and I also didn't noticed it until it already happened.

The saving grace was Ah Chong gave a discount again, $180 for tire and brake pad change, signal light he gave free, because the mech cracked it during the installing.

No wonder some S4s like to make that "woop woop woop" sound - cold starting?

Does the idling stabilise when the engine has been warmed up?

It's normal for some highly tuned / modded engines to have rough idling when cold but the sound and power when running should be smooth. I just increase the idling temporarily for startup, and back down when the motor is warmed up (few minutes of low rpm work is adequate)

If it fluctuates when riding then there's something terribly wrong.

hmm after warmed up, everything is alright except the rpm needle keep fluctuates up and down abit..

during cold start, i increase the idling and then change back after warmed up. but the sound is soso weird until like something get choke can't flow smoothly. i thinking isit tuning done wrong??

Might check it out with Dr Chong - I don't have experience with multi cylinder engines.

Could it be carb balancing issue? If one of your 4 carbs are running richer/leaner than the others it may cause power fluctuations.

okay where is the air intake of vtec 1? maybe something blocking it?

Should be under the seat, judging from the profile of the S4. Just look where the carbs lead to. Should be an airbox, air cleaner and a little intake on the side or towards the back. I don't think it's possible to obstruct the intake or airbox; it's in a quite remote design and why is the intake small and the airbox huge? Hemholtz resonance. Box is to gaurantee a supply of clean air to the engine.

If it's anything similar to the Phantom's I could do a DIY intake upgrade.. that no one knows about. But no, I must spend 10 years in cls 2 b :D

i see.. agree with u that air intake design is quite remote, probably no blockage at air box.. thanks for sharing with mi..

60th Time at Planet! :cheer:

23/07/2010

01:40pm

weather: Sunny

mood: Why on the way from Yishun raining? :sian:

Went to Planet after my first wife started complaining she doesn't feel tight down there!

So went to Planet to get a new tensioner.

When I was there, I saw PureIce's bike without the front wheel and with "power steering"! :D At least that's what Ah Chong told me!

Since I was already there, I figured I might as well changed the engine oil as well.

The China mech was the one to service my bike. MY MY!!! He is getting good. After taking out the part, and while waiting for the spare parts to arrive I DIY retighten a couple of bolts on my Phantom I went toilet to wash my hands and came back... ...

WAH!!! The tensioner finished changing liao ah!

Ask him he do so fast how to see, he tell me next year change then see lah! :cheeky:

KNN he infected by Ah Chong liao!

Then I saw my DR wrapped in a cover, look like so sad like that, Machiam died already covered with cloth like that.... :(

Why my CDI come by ship not aeroplane!

And this Ah Chong still can tell me the bike too many people asking to buy, so he cover up.... :sian:

Don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Then when I was about to go, I gave PureIce a lift to his office, but in my haste, I almost forgot to pay Ah Chong!!!!

Wah!!! If like that, next time will be black listed from Planet liao! And he still got my third wife (San Yi Tai) held hostage!

Luckily got pay! hahahah!
