76th + 76.5th Time at Planet!

Date: 10/01/2011

Time: 11:40am + 11:55pm

Weather: Drizzling

Mood: :) Happy

Well well well, my new starter motor from UK finally arrived. So went to Planet to let Ah Chong fixed it up. Looks like a reconditioned one though, because got discolouration. :(

But as long as it is in good condition... Oh well...

....Sure enough, that night Ah Chong called to tell me that, he just fitted in the new starter, the bike can start liao, starting very strongly too!

First time, everytime!

But because it was already 7:25pm, they will be closing soon. So if I want it by tonight, he will leave it outside and hide the key in the fairrings. So that's how come I got the 76.5th tiem at Planet! Took a bus to collect the bike, Damn... took an hour to get there. By bike only 1/2 that time.

Over at Planet at night, the place was very different, so Ulu....:sian:

So quickly wear my rainoat took my key and (a bit not used to it, because can start on the first time worrr!) started the bike as normal and rode back! But owe Ah Chong service charge for this time round! :cheeky: Must pay him back before Chinese New Year, otherwise unlucky!!!

77th time at Planet

17/02/2011

1:45pm

weather: Sunny

Mood: =) Getting married liao!

Drove down to Planet with my fiancee on the last day of the Chinese New Year just to pay Ah Chong the workmanship fee and also to wish him a Happy Chinese New Year.

Over at Planet, can see not many people, but also not many mechs. :p

But first things first, wished Ah Chong Properous business, Good health, Happy New Year, Good luck and success in all he do.

He very happy said the workmanship fee waive!

And when I offer to at least buy drink he said not today, someone just bought drinks for everyone about 10 mins ago. :thirsty:

So next time he tell me then buy!

Aiyo! I went home see my odometer, the meter of my 2 bikes stil far from servicing.... :sian:

Now I know why many people sell away their bikes after getting married.... :(

They're pretty good at these electrical issues. Some loose connection somewhere.

Try to visit them in the weekdays, don't go too early in the morning because as others mention, they have a shortage of staff.

Planet is still my top choice as I still get horror stories from other garages regarding pricing, workmanship and irresponsible upselling. Ah Chong is like, the only honourable businessman in the whole planet. *

No planet can die leh :3 (@CSV 's quote)

* - Due to Xmas promos and being with other riding groups I visited a number of 'big name' shops. Didn't like them. I mainly have issues with their staff not honouring promo prices and I have to deal with the boss and remind him, despite SMS being sent in advance to book products.

By comparison, Planet is like, everything is on special offer, if you can joke with the staff & boss, and do some repairs DIY :D

78th time at Planet.

28/02/2011

4pm

Last day of the month, went down to Planet to service my brakes, Brakes fluid needs checking.

Upon opening my bike cover, I saw my fuel cap unscrewed, was I so careless? Yesterday I did unscrew it to siphone fuel into my bike from my other bike. Aiyo so wasted, yesterday still almost full one, now only 3/4... ... Never mind rushing off liao. (more to come later)

At Planet, the China mech is gone. The pump Malaysian mech also no where to be seen. :(:(:(

Now got 2 uncles there. Ah Chong as usual in his joking mood. I showed Ah Chong my left hand, and said "Ta Dah!" now got my new wedding ring on it. :) And he showed me his hand and also said "Ta Dah! Married, but no need to wear ring!"

Ah Chong checked my brakes and saw got a screw drilled into the brake lever!

Looks like one of the previous owners did something funny to it too. :(

Anyway Ah Chong took it out, and refitted it before opening up the brake fluid box to refill the liquid inside. Then he almost made a blunder, he took the Dot 3 fluid! Then saw wrong one and change to the Dot 4 one, but got 1 tiny drop went inside, red colour one, like blood...

On the way back, saw a TP on the overhead bridge at Hougang, ride safe people, new month the "White Ghosts" Are hungry for frags.... :sian:

Then just now, I remembered after siphoning off the fuel, I left my SDF approved tin can wedged between my rear tire and the mudguard, blocked by the rear suspension and side box racks from dropping off by the sides. This afternoon when riding off, it wasn't there!!!! And the fuel cap was off! Someone stolen my petrol! Used my can to steal it! And left the cap open!

Just now got see some unfamilar people at the void deck with their kawasaki parked at the void deck, but no evidence, cannot do anything.

If I catch that basterd who stolen it I will beat the crap out of him before handing him over to the police.

I went there to change my coolant.

Asked him got engine ice he said stock have yet to arrive. "How about Water wetter?" I asked. 'havee... eh wait dont have.. maxima cool aide have'

i jokingly said "you open shop for what"

Chit chat abit he asked abt my hand. I told him about the forum talking abt his helmet and african twin riding skills n when i told him how much we liked his shop.. he gave a nice warm smile. Told him abt hw bad my vespa ran. Laughed when one of the plump mech fitted a sotong tyre to the busa's front. Helped marc align a dragstar sissy bar.

Oh yes asked about your dr800 too silent hunter. "eh chong you know tat guy going to get married one ride dr800?" chong "ah yes that guy cui.. his bike also cui" hahahaha.

When i saw the cool aide was pink i said "WAH LAO WHY THE COLOUR LIKE KUNIANG ONE". He looked at me and said "you where know this kinda stuff one" drink liao can go geylang and sell your ass... hahahaha. He threw the coolant cap at me and asked me to change.

I asked him to loosen the airfilter screws for me as i got a set at home. Prev "mechkonek" as termed by him tightened e screws so tight. Abit reluctant because i know he doesnt like but no choice. He said $10. But during payment, it didnt come up.

Saw him taking chair for a customer. Something i found so humble of him.

Before i went off, i asked him if he could get my bike parts if i needed an overhaul. He said can.. but scrap better... this bike so cheap.. hahaha

Dont expect lab prices at planet but rather service that makes a difference. Good things comes for those who wait.

Welcome to the biking world - sad to hear of the problems with your purchase but.... to be expected.

That's why we all love Planet - it's an anti cheating mechanism. I always bring 2ndhand bikes to be sold / inspected / bought to planet for their opinion (test rides FOC if you ask nicely) :3

i park 1 side, and tried to start...but only hear tick tiak sound....den i put throttle, and start, still cant start den exhaust 1 pop sound.

then i wait awhile, try again e start, den the neutral light was flickering......
