Hi guys, this morning travelling on CTE from amk to serangoon at round 8.20am, there was a huge jam. i tink its due to the increase in ERP charges. I was going in between 2 lanes when a taxi from one of the lane sort of like close in. I did brake on time. As i stop, my bike lean to the side, just the time the taxi move forward and his mirror hit mine. nothing big happen, just the taxi mirror tilted. As i move off again, the taxi horn at me.

So i was tinking should i stop and help to adjust his mirror back to the original position? I didnt do that. Did anyone of u guys do this b4?

tink its quite hard for us to adjust the mirror back to the original positioning also

imagine the fella from his seat there shouting the instructions to u "left abit left abit. ahh, too much already. right abit!"

juz stop for a moment to signal an apology will be good enough

somemore some of the newer cars nowadays have the mechanism to adjust the side mirrors accessible from a control panel

Just a wave of apology if there's no damage.

As long as there is no big damage like the mirror drop off or crack, most pple are ok as long as you apologise.

if tilt or wad still ok la.. cannot be tilt then you ask the driver go to the side and say sorry ma... if on the expressway how? stop road shoulder meh?

no offence ah.... but i think wave sorry is good enough unless u bang the mirror down la... then confirm must stop and see how..

If this was to happen on the last lane, we could easily move to the shoulder to settle. I mean help to adjust the mirror back or wat. but wat if in the middle lane? somemore traffic jam. As i rode off, i was thinking how the taxi driver was to check the left side traffic if he was to change lane. So this is a mixture feeling of stopping and not stopping to help.

does agreed with what bro horizoner said,

"As compared to merely a wave of sorry, a more responsible reaction will be stopping by the side of the vehicle to settle, or move to the road shoulder."

But personally i felt it also depends on situation...eg..in the morning where CTE is always so packed.if you still stop and settle, those typical 'kaypo' drivers will maybe stop to look what happened and caused the jam to worsen.

ride safe today,ride again tomorrow
