I just received an RFID Season Parking Ticket to replace the paper ticket..

According to the letter HDB sent me, parking information will be captured on a handheld device for checking validity of season parking in the tag...

AND

"The tag must be prominently displayed near the road tax disc of the motorcycle & must be visible for inspection at all times"

Jeez, does this mean I will need to put the ugly piece of blue tag on my bike? I prefer the paper system leh, cos don't need to put the disc on my bike..

I have two bikes, one which I have placed my RFID tag near the road tax disc and for the other bike, I dont display the ID. Both parked side by side.... no issues for about 3 months now.

the only conclusion I draw is that you have wasted money on season parking on one bike for 3 months.

its actually a e-chip within that road tax-sized paper that allows ur parking status to be detected and checked. if i'm not wrong, the booking aunties will scan ur RFID and the system will process for ur current parking status. if still valid, move on,if not, book. simple stuff really, but if pple stun ur RFID,u must pay 5 dollars to replace. it will be given free once when u buy season parking for a bike the first time. :thumb:

Sian eh if kena stolen... pay again for nothing...

So if kena stolen, pay the $5 to replace but the initial season parking i paid will still be there rite? Dun tell me muz pay another $15?

The actual RFID tag only has a serial number on it and nothing else. Your Season parking info is encoded with reference to this number... not sure about how Makcik Fatimah will check with their toys though...

biting_point: I guess when the time comes that the paper ticket is phased out, the only way for the wardens to check your parking info is if you have the disc on the bike.... if that's the way it goes, then no RFID tag = summons, seems quite likely :sian:

Now not 100% implemented, so probably can still get away with not displaying the tag...

i am sure the hand held tool makcik fatimah holds can verify whether that particular rfid tag belong to that particular no. plate...

otherwise, why did they 'disturb' my bike & nvr cover back properly :nono: o_O

After some time, early morning, I went down, only my bike left, weird. Check, kena summoned.

LOL!! In the end, if you want to do it, never think you wont get it. :)

I'm guessing that once the RFID tag is implemented across the board, The wardens can just point their 'toy' at a bike to read the RFID tag. Don't need to key in number plate anymore. Save them time.

This will also help them "solve" the problems of bikes that are covered. They can check the validity of said bike without the need to open the cover to see number plate...
