Hi Bros

Ai before I read this topic.....I already went to Sanfu for Crab washing and engine tuning.....cos my FC is at about 240KM before reaching reserve. They look very prof lay......after washing the crab then they use a machine to do the tuning.....with four indicator running up and down.....

Then the fat fat boss offer to knock a hole in my stock exhart.....and I allow them to do it....he claim that is will help to trap lesser carbon in the exhart.....

I am still trying out the FC.......jsut went to JB to pump at Caltex.... Riding a SPec 2 and total damage is $70

Are they doing the correct things???

Hi Cobbett,

I really interested in knocking a hole in my silencer also. Coz that should allow quicker exhaust of the combustion gases and more power and less fuel consumption. I think Yoshimura & Micron endcans work on same principle, but they have good sound dampening designs to counter the noisier effect of more openings.

After knocking a hole, is the exhaust sound much louder than before? Any feeling of more power?

Sound slightly louder then stock.....and hollow.....but I am still monitoring my usage....now already travel about 150 Km and the FC meter already half gone......sian.....

Was told by Sanfu Mech that inspection no problem.....but if it cna help to reduce carbon accumulation......why not..as for changing of end can......cant do it unless Kana TOTO lor!!!!

Hi Guys

The hole in my exhart indeed sound slightly better and not really that loud as compare with stock.....got those hollow sound!!!!! and was told by Sanfu mech that inspection no problem....since can help to reduce carbon accumulation.....why not.....

I am still trying out the FC.......but till now travel for 150 KM and half of the FC meter already gone.......sian.....still think the FC very high and i never open Vtec,,,,

I just feel that after the wash the throuttle feel is more responsive and power wise...is about the same la....

All I hope is better FC!!!!!!!!!!

according to LTA , if your sound limit exceed 98 Dpa range u will fail the inspection or modified your exhaust by doing a hole to reduce carbon , you will still be charge by SAM, no doubt 2 inspection is around the corner cum LTA also :cheeky:

so what if you pass your inspection after the mechanic told u tt the inspection had pass .when getting to renew your insurace cum roadtax . if u ride outside the building at anywhere as long SAM think tt its modified , even u show him the letter which u able to mention inspection pass wah, they still can able to chare you fine .for my parts of view, if u want it your pipe to be good get a legal type no point doing modified and end up charge follow my argue with SAM

all these issue which i encounter b4 when i use to be INS**********

pls be reminded,

any modification to the exhaust is consider as illegal,

a fine of $500 would be resulted.

mechanic can say whatever they wan, when come to fine, i dun think they will pay for u.

make ur own call.

Bo Bian already.......wat is done and is done......my ignorant have already believe those sweet talks from the mech....just hope that will not get caught lor

After everythings done by Sanfu.....my FC still remain at 18Km per liter....which i think is still pretty bad.....be it the fact that I never go beyond 100KM and activite my Vtec......is always very slow throtte and increase speed gradually......

Will you all suggest me go to the highly recommand "combine motor" to do wash and tuning again??? when i blow the bike can still see carbon.....but after afew times ......no much liao lor..

Please keep us update on any improvement in your FC , if you going for washing & tuning. I think Boon Siew may be best place for tuning coz they have the proper tuning tools & know original design settings.

Btw my FC is only 19km/liter, similar to some other Boldors. When I open Vtec by riding 140 km/hr on NShighway, my consumption also 19km/hr. If I dun open Vtec on Spore roads, also 19km/hr. Coz Vtec is for fuel economy , not for more power. Why we thought Vtec opens got more power - its because the power band or maximum torque of the engine starts from 7000rpm onwards to 11k rpm. Without Vtec, the FC will shoots up if riding at high rpm.

I also contemplating for carburettor balancing plus tuning to improve my FC, but I have doubts coz wondering why new bike requires so.

Cheers,

If any of u guys wanna know where his shop is pm me aite.. chaoz n ride safe..

its some needle u change inside ur carb. ppl recommend to use if u using full system. it can improve ur fuel economy by doing dyno run and setting the carb to the right air/fuel setting. this is long term investment cos u will need to open ur carb for servicing once a year? but only certain motodiam know how to do.

i just when for tuning and washing carb at HKL and the mech told mi tat the black rubber thing(i duno wat it calls) needs to be replaced, cos the rubber was harden and air flow will run if i dun change it & no use tuning if it's not replaced...i try to press the old ones and was much harder then the new ones... so i changed it $20 per/pc...4carb=$80  ...

after wash and tune...very smooth. :thumb:

any pros know it is neccesary to change??
